I went to online grocery shopping and added the cheapest option for the entire list. It came to $87 Canadian, or $63US. Pretty close to your prices, but wish mine were the same!

I did not include any of the pantry staples listed, but alone those would cost an extra $51CAD, or $37US, if someone needed them all.

Gluten free and dairy free is exactly what I need! It's so hard to find recipes that are exactly that combination, no more no less!

We don't have a Trader Joe’s here. I wish we did and I have a family to cook for making my bill higher than normal. 😭 Those meals look yummy.

Emphasis is on 5 healthy dinners. What about breakfast and lunch? Unless I understood this clip

That cart would be at least $100 for me as I need kosher meats (minus the pork, obviously)

"You wouldn't even know they're gluten and dairy free" that sentence has never been true

Yes, it is possible, depending on how many humans you're feeding. Because, I'm feeding 8 😬

Had to test this. Looked everything up on Walmart. Total came to over $100.

You can make delicious Spaghetti with a sauce of tinned mackarele (or sardine), onions, olive oil, mixed Italian dried herbs, salt and pepper. Simmer all ingredients in a pan and toss with the cooked spaghetti. Tastes like real Italian summer. Mackarele and olive oil has good omega 3 fats.

Trader Joes is over priced. You would have been able to get more food somewhere else.

I live in Tasmania, an island state that's part of Australia. I'm going to do this experiment and see how much it might cost here.

We are the poorest, oldest, sickest, and least educated population in Australia.

We don't have Aldi or other cheaper supermarkets, just the 2 behemoths that are renowned for price gouging and colluding in anticompetitive practices (that means they aren't competitors they just want us to think they are).

My husband and I are about to retire. We grow our own vegetables and aim to be at least 75% self-reliant in veges, living seasonally and turning excess veges into off-season meals (e.g., soups & stuffed eggplants), free flow freezing others (e.g., green beans, broccoli, capsicum, cauliflower), making vege powders (e.g., zucchini, garlic, eggplant) and dehydrated veges (dried cherry tomatoes are flavour bombs we call "tomato raisins" when these overflow our garden and are a fabulous treat!!).

We are also committed to sharing our harvest with our close friends & neighbours (about 10 other people) who are retired, or soon will be, on fixed incomes, and not all able to garden like we do.

I have started weekly menu planning aiming to shop wisely, and for my husband & I, the occasional wastage goes directly into our compost.

When we are not working, we usually eat twice per day, having a light breakfast and an early main meal late afternoon - early evening.

So, consider this challenge is accepted!

I love these but the problem is they’re usually always for single people and if I calculate it for my family it’s the price I’m already paying
