Dell knew about this issue and did nothing, refused to fix the issue when my laptop was under warranty, and now refuses to do anything about it because the warranty expired. Shady, fraudulent, disseminating BS is what all this is. Someone needs top bring a class action lawsuit against them over this, they are knowingly selling defective products that don't perform as advertised.

Having dealt with this issue for years and still not having it solved is why I'll never buy a Dell Laptop again.

Dell added me to the sufferer's list today. I bought a Dell Vostro 3400 and when observed the 100% disk problem, contacted the Dell support, only to be told that this is a known issue and need to
invest more money to make it work. add RAM, SSD . Why are you selling such products???

The only fix is to upgrade to an SSD. Out of pocket $250 but now is faster than it ever was. Dell should be ashamed of itself to be selling such crap Hard disk that are slow as in 2020.

Tried everything, this and other steps online. Guess I'll fork out on an SSD as lappy is now 2-years old but has always had this disk problem since day 1, almost unusable even for documents and browsing. Dell used to churn out some good machines 10 years back but these days they increasingly cut back on essential components to bottleneck performance. So yeh this is where we are at: youtube videos from the manufacturer getting us to try steps to fix their product after we've put our money on it. I always steer friends, fam, colleagues, away from Dell and thankfully they hear my horror stories and purchase more customer-friendly brands. Looking forward to my next non-Dell soon.

I have a Inspiron 23 all in one. Fresh install and have this problem. Theres nothing outside of what was shipped from factory and I’m waiting minutes after each click just for it to respond and do something.

Guys. Had this experience with another brand before. Same headache trying to get support.
Almost a year by now, I managed to fix this.
Tried everything listed eveywhere, seems sometimes you get a corrupted copy on your hdd.
Build yourself a recovery drive.
Then format your current disk and then reinstall windows using your recovery drive.
Problem fixed
As last bullet, do all this but replacing your disk.
