In a surprise conclusion to our epic summer trip, we visited La Ronde on a layover back from Paris. This is a park Taylor had absolutely zero plans to go back to, but since Sarah had never been, we decided to make the stop! We also happened to go on one of the busiest nights of the year when the park put on an epic fireworks display to end out the evening!

Legend has it that the dad and his two kids are still playing in the bathroom stall to this day... 😂😜

The Fireworks at La Ronde are actually an international competition. It’s 10 countries every year that compete for the title. I have been very lucky to see them a few times ( La Ronde is my home park) and they’re always some of the best shows I’ve seen; due to the pandemic less countries have been competing but they were still wonderful shows to watch.

“La ronde’s pretty lit” words we never thought Taylor would say 😮

18:23 There's something wonderful about the contrast of watching impressive fireworks with an SLC prominently in the foreground.

Fun fact - did you know Ednor is “Ronde” backwards? 😊

This series has seriously been the best work on the channel thus far ❤ Pumped for “Season 2”!

Those fireworks were the perfect end to the series, it's like La Ronde knew they needed to send you guys home with a bang

Cheers for shrugging off the past and give credit to a place when there are credits to give. And thanks again for this series - I think this new format takes people alongside with you on(to?) the trip. Being able to witness the fun, the not so much fun, the traveling, the evenings and the fatigue is very capitvating and makes it all so relatable. Im so looking forward to four more episodes to come.

The ending teaser was made so well, the music choice was great, got me goosebumps actually. Loved this series and did not think I'd watch the whole thing

These firework shows usually last around 30 minutes, and it's not just for Laronde to watch. The entire city would literally gather around the shores and cover the entire bridge next to it. You can even hear the fireworks blasts from the center of the city

It's nice to see you back at La Ronde! I was working on that day but sadly I didn't run into you! Here's some fun facts that'll give some insight into some of the questions you had in the vlog.

The monorail just got removed actually. I have a piece of rail that I got to keep at home lmao. And another colleague kept a wheel from one of the trains.
La Spirale (the observation tower) is supposed to be removed as well (from what I heard) because the structure is in a terrible terrible state. But I mean that ride has been standing since 1966 and it opened in 1967 and it's in an incredibly unstable terrain because the entire terrain where the park is built is entirely artificial. And the bridge creates a lot of vibrations which put a lot of stress on every single ride in the park. Especially the ones closer to the bridge. This is the reason why Cobra and Tornade were removed since those two rides were almost under the bridge.

Monstre used to have two trains on each side but they don't anymore. A few years ago, one stupid employee was distracted and two trains collided because of him in the station. One of the trains was pretty damaged. So the park had to change the old Morgan trains that the ride had for new PTC trains. But the problem is that these trains are too heavy and they create an immense amount of stress on the structure since it was designed to hold the forces created by the weight of the old Morgan trains which were much lighter. So La Ronde chose to run only one train on each track to extend the ride's and the train's life expectancy. And well it was supposed to get RMC'd for the park's 50th anniversary in 2017 but RMC didn't have the permit to work in Canada at the time. When they finally did, the park wasn't doing well so the project was delayed until like 2022-2023. Then covid hit and it was then delayed until like 2025-2026. Then Selim Bassoul became the new dictator of Six Flags and he basically cancelled every single project that La Ronde had for it's futur. And the sad thing is that according to the rumours, there is absolutely NOTHING planned for the futur of the park right now smh. According to some colleagues who saw the plans, they made multiple versions of the ride. On some versions it would've been a smaller one track roller coaster. And in other versions it was going to be a massive 200 ft dueling RMC with an even bigger footprint than it's current footprint. But from what I heard, La Ronde was much more likely to choose one of the less ambitions versions of the project.

Also, yeah the indications for when they closed the lines for the fireworks are very misleading and tbh management doesn't seem to care. But basically the rides in the fireworks fallout zones have to be closed ideally before 8:50 pm and no ride is aloud to still be running after 9 pm. Because at 9:15 pm, 9:30 pm and 9:45 pm the pyrotechnics team launches colorless fireworks to test the wind direction/speed and if the electrical systems that are launching the fireworks work just fine. And the firemen need enough time to get into their positions before 9:15 so entire sections of the park have to be completely evacuated by then.

And yes there's a massive staffing issue everywhere all throughout the Québec province currently and La Ronde is feeling the effects incredibly hard unfortunately. It almost happened daily that in the rides department we were understaffed by like 15-40 employees. And in the restaurants it was worst.

Oh and I'm sad that you missed the absolutely best part about the fireworks. Every firework is synchronized to some music playing. Because this is a fireworks competition and it is literally the most prestigious in the world. Countries all over the world are invited to compete against each other like in the Olympics. And one of the criteria that the judges use to determine how good the show was is if the fireworks were well synchronized with the music.

If some of you read through this long paragraph I applaud you! Lmao but I hope that you at least learned something new! Like we say here in Québec : '' Vous dormirez moins niaiseux à soir!'' / ''You will sleep less stupid tonight!''

You put out something like 15 hours of content in this series which I can only imagine took days worth of hours to edit.

That’s like two whole seasons of How I Met Your Mother.

After the RMC doc and then this series, I’m
stoked for whatever is next. Rock on 🤘

Yeah, La Ronde hosts the most prestigious fireworks competition there is. For fireworks geeks like me, it's the most awaited fireworks competition there is yearly and next time, you should pay for the seat in the ampitheatre. IT'S THAT WORTH IT!

So glad you finally made it back to La Ronde! The fireworks looked insane! Goliath looks like a fun hyper and Monster should maybe have GCI Infinity Flyer or Millennium Flyer trains. Also, please do a re-review of La Ronde.

This vlog legit made me emotional. Hearing that opening music in full during the travel montage for the last time of this trip, your reaction to the fireworks, and the ending recap. Brilliant work guys. Long may this series and style of vlog continue.

Legend has it that that big orange ride and monorail is still standing and not operational

(Went there a couple weeks ago that legend is true)
