The dad is not on the battle field, he is at base. If he is at a forward operating base, we would see more trucks bringing in supplies, troops walking around doing various tasks, and possibly tanks coming back for resupply or being deployed.

Because of Rusty’s older brother being called digger, I wonder if Pokémon will ever make a very diggersby, instead of being normal and ground type it would actually fighting and ground type in reference to the Australian army if Pokémon had its real world counterpart actually taking place somewhere in Australia, as it’s pre-evolution, Bunnelby, would be pure Fighting.
