Election is one of those things that could really contribute to portfolio growth and vice versa. I've been going hard with my investments this year and have been able to build up to 80k. Are there tips I could apply to help me grow my portfolio even more during this election season?

Cost per share doesn’t matter unless you can’t buy partial share or “can’t afford it”. The “expensiveness” is in the mind. 😅

My current 401K is 2100+ shares of FXAIX. My brokerage account also has 507 shares of VOO. It's been a good year!

More important to just get invested in one of them and hold for long term! Don’t waste too much time worrying about which one

SPY is my pick, I like selling covered calls on my shares and SPY has by far the most liquid options market

I invest in few of these but my portfolio is still down by approximately 20% and there's no hope in sight. Buying is not even an option. Any recommendations on how to scale up my returns before selling off to draw even will be highly appreciated as I am losing my mind given that my retirement draws nearer.

I use USF in New Zealand. Around $17 NZD a share. Saves on exchange fees and taxes buying a USA based S+P 500 ETF.
I have around 200 shares

Professor G. What is your take on Goldman and Sacs article that S&P 500 high returns is over and only grow 3% for the next 10 years which will not keep up with inflation?

Prices of the etfs make no difference….yes there is a psychological factor to holding 10 shares instead of 1 but the amount of money you make is the same (apples to apples).

The best one is SPY because it's the most liquid and safest ticker in the world. If that goes under everything else doesn't stand a chance. Price never matters because of fractional shares.

If you're not day trading, go for the one that charges the lowest management fees, the profomance and dividend yeild is the same. You're welcome

Expense Ratio on ETFs VOO is %0.04, SPLG is %0.02. Index fund FXIAX is %0.015 but these are pretty minor differences. Actively managed mutual funds can be expensive with ratios over %1.00+ so those cost significantly to own. ETFs can be bought and sold throughout the day just like stock where index funds can only be exchanged at the end of trading day so you might prefer ETF if you are active trader.

With the ability to buy fractional shares, price doesn't matter as much as it used to. I'm a big FXAIX fan. 🎉

I would think the expense ratio would be more important, especially with many brokerages allowing fractional shares now.
