The connection between Bill Cipher and Discord is they're both mischievous chaotic entities with similar showman personalities who possess immense reality warping and chaos-based powers. Both are renown for being tricksters and befriending other bizarre entities. Both served as major antagonists towards the heroes of their series' (the Pines Family and the Main Six), and both were defeated in some way which left their bodies as stone. Although, while Bill remained a villain, Discord would later redeem himself.
