They made this fight so thematic for both characters, provided some of the best animation, and made it so I haven’t seen even one person get upset that Discord lost.

The Fact that Discord always knew that he couldn't defeat Bill so he just trapped him again and restored all the Damage

One of the things I really like about this particular death battle is the fact that even though Bill wins
Discord is the one who got the last laugh .
It made the fight more than just the statistics determining who won.
There is also a great narrative that was going on at the same time.

Hands down the most raw victory monologue in all of deathbattle.
That's exactly what bill would say if he fought another similarly op character.

I love how now one has noticed the change Bill took, this episode was so powerful that he showed us, he’s fully aware what this is supposed to be, he changed his art style from pixels to full hand drawn animation, something Discord wasn’t capable of, he was toying with him the full time, and ultimately? When he got pissed off, the game was over.

Shame he didn’t see his own front door with all the focus he put into that dragon.
