Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Valve. It consists of nine classes, Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy, and two teams, Red and Blu. The teams try to take the others' objective, such as an intelligence brief case, or a control point.

I just wish they'd put a developer or two on the game to implement the fixes the community sends to them.

Someone sent Valve code to add multi-threading to the game and fix all of the main weapon bugs (e.g. iron bomber pill is 8x the size it should be), and they haven't added any of these things.

The multi-threading change alone would be the best update TF2 has ever had, increasing framerate anywhere from 2-8x depending on your computer.

A little more info; over time more information has leaked from Valve that the remaining developers are being forced to work on other projects, not because they want to, but because of how Valve as a company works. And this is apparently getting worse over time, so the devs spend even less time on TF2 every consecutive month. They have so little TF2 dev time that they are being forced to work on TF2 ON THEIR OWN TIME (FOR FREE), if they want to get updates out. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

At Valve, based on seniority the year end reviews you give your coworkers are weighted higher, and these year end reviews determine whether you get a raise, or get fired, and the very old developers want everyone on VR, AR, and the Steam Deck.

To those senior developers: screw off, there's an easier solution for a massive company like Valve - HIRE MORE PEOPLE.

TF2 makes over a million dollars EVERY DAY in key sales alone, and we can't get a SINGLE DEV? What is wrong with you Valve!

So just to clarify, there have been no official statements by VALVE to abandon TF2. It's just clear as day that's been the case since after Jungle Inferno. Nobody at VALVE cares anymore about developing the game, there is literally only one guy working on it now.
They need to hand the keys to the community, like the TF2 Classic devs.

tf2 is a great game, and deserves to be treated better, a lot of people really love it ( including me )

it makes me sad that such a big company is slowly killing one of the biggest games of it's time

Valve logic : oh no we must kill our best seller game to focus on something that won't be successful

If Valve cares so little, they should just hand it off to the community. Get a team of trusted TF2 developers and modders, like the guys who made TF Classic, let them take control and give us content. At least regularly add in workshop stuff

You know a game is good when it’s still very popular even with barely any support.

One way we have around this is that recently news have been out that a very dedicated TF2 community is actually making a full custom port of tf2 to source 2 as a game mode for the new source 2 spiritual remake of Gmod called S&box, and this is a revelation for a lot of tf2 players who not only want a dedicated developer working on the game again but also want it to be on better software such as source 2, which will of course allow for better graphics and effects but also hopefully much smoother gameplay, they’ve actually already shown off the amazing effects they’ve made using source 2’s very good looking fire effects for pyro but have also shown how they will use source 2’s bottle effects (seen in the bottles in half life alyx) for demoman’s whisky bottle, it’s very exciting and we can hope the game mode will have official dedicated servers by the devs to allow a full old fashioned tf2 experience, and perhaps this will be heavily expanded upon by the community as well

WERE GONNA PLAY TF2 LONG AFTER IT DIES! Like how the band played on during the sinking of the Titanic.

Atleast we can appreciate that the game is still somewhat getting updates. Even though they don't fix much, but atleast we know someone is still working on tf2 during their free time

Hey, so I’m reading through the comments here and seeing a lot of stuff saying that the TF2 devs are being moved to other projects against(?) their will, and that most of the work on tf2 is being done in their free time. So why don’t we all just up and make a Kickstarter or somethin to pay them for their off the clock contributions to the game-since they’re doing all we see now for free after a full days work they must really love the game as much as we do, so we might as well give them all the support we can, it’s all of us together or nothing!

I mean, minecraft is almost as old and STILL in development, even after the dungeons game released. Of course maybe not as regularly updated, but it does raise confidence that they care about it.

It won't die even if there is only 2 players
Cause at the end of the day long as there is two players
Someone is gonna want someone dead
