You promote it as you need a cage for photography. It is meant to rig it up for video and mount handles mics monitor etc on it

amazing camera to start off with.. after 2 years of having it and doing more and more video work the rolling shutter with 4k bothers me the most. and the lowlight performance obviously can’t compete with a full frame one so it will be time to upgrade very soon. for everyone starting out it still is one of the best for the price even tho i think it would be worth it to spend a little more and get the a7iii

I had One with the exact same "rig". 18 to 105, cage etc. I used It a lot for both photos and videos. Now I shoot only videos on a Blackmagic pocket 4k. This camera Is insane, waaaay better than the Sony. Aniway, cool camera, gave me good vibes

You need to remove the metal loops or else the camera wont sit flush in the cage. There is also a second screw in the top right

The fact that the lens hood got screwed upside down and it shows the number and not the Sony logo, bothers me so much.

No IBS like the A6500 though😐 love my 6400 with the oss from the G lens

I have the same cage, when i put my godox 860ii flash on, it loses connection sometimes because i cant slide it in all the way in the hotshoe. I will remove that part of the cage with a grinder.
