In July 2014, 28-year-old German Lars Mittank had a holiday with his friends at Golden Sands in Bulgaria – a popular destination for young tourists. When partying on the beach, he gets into a fight. The conflict ends up with a brawl and Lars suffers a small injury in his ear. At the end of his trip, a doctor advises him not to fly and prescribes him antibiotics.

When the holiday is over, he decides to stay in Bulgaria for further treatment. He rents a hotel room in the poor part of the town and convinces his friends they can leave without him. Just a day later, he shows extremely erratic and bizarre behavior.

He spent a night at a hotel but got paranoid and scared. He panicked and texted his mom saying he didn’t feel safe, that she should cancel his credit card and that he was hiding from four men following him.

Later he went to the airport, but after a few moments he ran away in panic. The episode was also caught on the surveillance video. After leaving the airport, people saw him climbing over a fence, disappearing into a nearby forest.

Why would you leave your friend behind in a foreign country? Even if you have deadlines and places to be, you don't leave a friend behind.

Most likely a psychotic episode. He wasnt running fast enough to be chased, wasnt looking back, was jogging and walking most likely in a drug indiced state. He is most likely alive homeless and has no idea who he is, suffering from amnesia.

I can't imagine a young man would walk/run from pursuers, especially without ever looking back or attempting to get help from those he passed. An airport full of people would feel much more safe than being alone, which is why this is most likely some sort of psychosis.

Why always leave out important stuff? He didn't go the airport and then "ran off". He went into the airport, and to the airport doctor, hoping to get cleared for flying. A worker showed up up in the doctor's office, and this is when he freaked and started to run, out of the doctor's office and then across the airport, into the woods.

This haunts me. I’m not sure why, but this image pops up into my head every once in awhile and it bothers me so much.

He was in a fight like a couple of days previous that left him with a broken jaw and ruptured ear drums. He probably was not healed all the way. He should not have been left alone. It’s insane that his friends left him alone. I bet he is alive and probably has no idea who he is or how to get back home.

My mother once had hallucinations after taking a single dose of antibiotics. She made me look everywhere around the house, she was convinced a cat had sneaked in the house.

no one cares you’re from tiktok, I watch these and mainly enjoy reading the problem solving comments, not “who’s from tiktok”.

It's so... sad. I really hope that guy is okay. He may have gone missing in 2014. But I hope he is safe and living a secure life now.

Something that's weird is that it doesn't look as if he's looking back.

It's like it was a planned escape into hiding.

It's important to say that his mother, Interpol and the videos on internet only represents 40 of 306 seconds of footage in the airport, what happened on the other 266 seconds only the bulgarian police knows.

I'm not a detective, but here's my 2 cents.
I feel like only two kinds of people would run in an airport. Someone racing to catch a scheduled (or connecting) flight or those in some kind of danger. The former option is basically a non-starter. He must've believed there was a threat on his life assuming he was in a healthy mental state. When you want someone to help you, you go to where people are, not away from people. So, I that rules out the implication that he was chased. There's something really unsavory about the meeting with the doctor imho. I wonder if he was threatened or something. Maybe the rabbit hole goes deep with this one...

If you go on google maps and look at the airport it’s only surrounded by some fields and small woodland area then the town in around it and then there is some more wilderness. There is also the A2 highway. So someone has to have seen him or picked him up or something. If he died in the wild how have they not found his body. I don’t like to start drama but it definitely seems like the police didn’t look hard enough or even cared an enough.
