I can’t be the only one who scares myself watching his videos but just can’t stop watching them

*Update.* Sadly, not too long after you posted this video, Dave Stehling’s remains were found 4.2 miles from where he was last seen. The police got an anonymous tip that a body was found in a remote, off-limits section of park. Due to the state of the remains, they couldn’t determine a cause of death. A bizarre ending to a bizarre disappearance.

My sister worked with Dale’s wife. His wife looked for him on vacation time every year. She even saw a shaman/medicine man who told her he suffered something to his head (head injury or stroke) and that he would be found off the regular trail. He has been found but no cause of death could be determined. Im glad she found him for her closure.

Thank you for giving Dave the credit for all his hard work. He has never had a problem with anyone sharing his info, but a lot of people just use it with no credit for him. You are a standup guy, which is why I enjoy your vids so much.

At this point David Polidis should just hire you to narrate his audiobooks.

Many years ago my very close friend and I hiked and camped on this very same area on the same creek. This was years before this young lady had gone missing. As we hiked in we kind of marveled at the fact there was ZERO wildlife. In the dense woods of N.W. Washington state its not uncommon to get into patches of woods where this is true, but this was for miles. The entire hike in we were both creeped out, speaking to one another often about it. Finally we came to a nice wide, flat spot along the creek and set up camp. My Buddy had a fire going and was in pretty good spirits, I how ever was still uneasy. That night we were both sleeping very fitful. I woke up to what sounded like a large animal running down the trail next to our tent, what was especially creepy was the breathing of the animal, it sounded like it was breathing very heavily, like I could hear panic in its breath. I have spent TONS of time deep in the woods of Washington around elk, deer and black bear, I’ve never heard an animal sound like that. The next morning we quickly packed up and headed back to the car, both of us looking over our shoulders. To this day we still talk about how weird that experience was.

I met a woman recently who suffers from some type of dissociative disorder and regularly runs miles ending up with no idea how she got to where she's found. She and her dog have to wear a tracking device so she can be found. She had suffered trauma whilst working in the military as a dog handler.

The first story reminds me of a story I had read in college about this young 22yr old girl who had recently lost her mother and one night she randomly went to a near by lake and walked for 2days and found her mothers body she had no clue how she got there and called the cops she went missing for 3 days and people say she got “possessed “ by her own mother who guided her to the body for closure 🤷🏻‍♀️

One of the commonalities in the Missing 411 series is search parties coming across the missing person's shoes and/or clothing, as though the person suddenly removed them, choosing to wander lost in the woods barefoot/naked. I find that so strange, even if one is disoriented/dazed it seems so odd that this would seem like a necessary thing to do. Anyone else find this really odd?

I was not expecting the girl that walked up a mountain and was gone for 9 days to be found alive.

Hearing screams of help and being like we checked already is like losing your phone and having someone call it. Hearing it ring and going no I checked already

About a year ago my husband introduced me to this channel and we started watching it together when new stories come out. We’re adventurous people, we like hiking and exploring, building and fixing things, trying something new etc. But ever since we started watching this channel before we do something that seems a little dangerous we ask ourselves if this will make us into an episode. We’re much safer people thanks to this channel! 😂

Honestly, from the moment I found John’s channel, that’s all I can watch! I am constantly walking my dog at night on edge, but I just can’t stop. I can’t be the only one terrified and engulfed at the same time. He’s just so incredibly talented at bringing these stories to life! Respect and appreciation! Thank you 🙏🏻

Any time it starts with “He was an avid…, ” you know it’s not going to end well.

A friend of mine was having seizures where she could still function (driving, walking, eating, etc) but was super confused about what was going on around her and couldn't verbalize anything. They finally diagnosed the seizures and put her on a medication and she's ok now. I wonder if that (or similar conditions) explain some of these disappearances.

I always wonder what people mean when they describe their family as "avid outdoorsmen". My brother in law spends the majority of his free time fishing, hunting, camping, etc. And being from Minnesota and now living in Alaska most of these things happen in Winter. I'm sure many would describe him as an avid outdoorsmen. However, I'd trust my city slicker sister to survive longer in the wilds because despite having less experience in the wilderness than my brother in law, she has far more common sense, and is much more risk adverse. Basically in my experience just because you spend a lot of time outside doesn't mean you aren't stupid and won't get lost and do something risky that actually puts you in danger. Also the last guy, my suspicion is he was much further away than they thought and that his voice was esentially an echo that could be heard from that location.
