We will discover how to differentiate csc x, or as known as cosec x. According to the formula for derivatives, the derivative of csc x, or cosec x, is equal to - csc x cot x. In this video, we will apply 2 different methods to take this derivative, which are the quotient rule and the chain rule.

The reason we can apply the quotient rule is that csc x = 1/sin x, where we have a quotient of functions. On the other hand, we can apply the chain rule because 1/sin x = (sin x)^-1, where we have a composite function.
