This week, Ginny, Mike and Tom shoot the electric breeze on a variety of subjects, including World Car of the Year, the long-awaited return of the Ford Explorer and Omoda's arrival in the UK . The team also answer listeners' questions to help them find the perfect electric car.

And when we do discuss cars, we find out a lot. From industry gossip to the more mundane practicalities of electric car ownership, it’s the place where we dish the dirt on the cars we’ve been driving and deliver our own verdicts on the latest electric car news. We also like to have a good laugh at the daftest bits of anti-electric news that we’ve seen in the press.

We can’t promise that you’ll learn much. You probably won’t. But if you fancy 30 minutes of idle chat and gossip about the world of electric cars, we’re here for you. If you like it / hate it / think it’s too long or too short, let us know.

Your channel has converted a total petrolhead, I collect my e:Ny1 Monday. The reviews and explanations of tech and cars etc and the plain quality of your videos is excellent. Thank you! :)

Congratulations for recruiting Vicky, one of the very best car reviewers online. She is a no nonsense reviewer and that's what we need. Cracking video all.

Welcome back podcast!!! You were saying you'd like to see larger EV's with smaller batteries - I'd like to see a small affordable EV with a huge battery! When you can't charge at home, or at work, a range of 400+ miles would reduce the number of times sitting at a pubic charger.

It's interesting that part way through the video the team talk about the need for smaller battery cars and how that should be possible because of the improved EV charging infrastructure. Plus, they said, it's daft to have 80kWh battery packs you hardly ever use.

And then when discussing the comparison between the Explorer and Mach-E they chose the Mach-E even though the Explorer has the smaller battery and is much more efficient.

My unsung hero is the original 28kWh Ioniq. A very efficient car and well equipped.

Top Tip, I use a £15 Wi-Fi smart plug adapter with my dishwasher, hot tub and electric heater in the winter to turn them on during the cheap nighttime tarrif. Washing machine I set the delay setting to end at 6am. Over the year it probably saves a fair bit of money

E golf is my unsung hero. Efficient as anything and it’s a golf!

The thing against short range cars is that so many of us live in flats and homes without home charging options. Long range isn't just about going long distances

Unsung hero - MG5! The first and only estate EV for too long. A great car.

Loving seeing Vicky as part of the team, her comment about the usable capacity was spot on!

I wish the kilowatt half house was a daily release, can we make that happen? 😂

Great team, great vibes, great work! 😊

We do need the cheaper cars that are also slower 0-60 to help keep the insurance costs down for drivers. Not that long ago a 0-60 under 6 seconds was in supercar territory. Another great episode thank you!

Yeahhhh, my favorite EV program, thanks to all for the work.
We have been riding cabrio's and coupes for all our live, but dont have the $ for the Cyberster.
So, we are anxiously awaiting our ë-C3 Max, (11kW AC charger, black with white roof)
We will have to be patient till end October .😁

E-golf for unsung hero. Drives beautifully, cheap, well built, and doesn't look like a bloated mess (ID3/Born!)

Tariffs - Also worth considering, specially if you have home battery storage, is Eon Next Drive V3 at 6.9p/kWh for 7 hours. I use no peak rate electricity as the house runs from my batteries all day.

Out of Buzz, Ioniq 5, etc you listed, I'd have the ID7. Bring back cars as the norm. We need to dump crossovers, which as the name suggests, were supposed to cross over SUV buyers back to cars, damnit. Yes welcome Vicky. Great to see you join the team.

I just got a used 2020 e-up! this june. Have been very impressed with how nice it is to drive and how far I seem to be able to make it go. Generally using the eco modes I get an estimated 250-300+ km range mixed driving. Now going out on highways changes things, but so far I have been easily able to get where I need to go and back with no hassle. I would say driving lots of highway stretches around 100km/h I probably get near 180-200km maybe. Will be taking my first longer trip this summer, about 600 km to a neighboring country, I will get a good feel for how long it goes on non-stop highways then.

Personally can't wait for the Inster, if I am in a good position to do so, I could easily see myself upgrading from the e-up to that one as I feel the drivetrain, infotainment of the Hyundai/Kia line seem to be some of the best in the industry. On top of all that plus the super practical shape and interior, it has Vehicle to Load.

Just sitting minding my own business listening to the podcast on YouTube and boom, I heard my name as you read my comment. I nearly gave myself whiplash checking if I had heard right! Haha 😂 as always, I love the channel and the reviews, guys!

I really enjoy your videos and related articles about everything EV. One thing I'd like to request; as more controls are buried deep in the infotainment menus could you try the voice controls to see if they actually work whilst driving. Some things like changing the temperature, radio station, and making a telephone call. Some cars fail dismally, a friend of mine used to have problems calling her husband Dennis using voice commands, did start a call - 'calling dentist'...
