PEDULLA STUDIO | Building a Sculpted Wooden Cabinet

Показать описание

This Sculpted Wooden Cabinet is made from Tasmanian Blackwood. The doors and drawer fronts are constructed using a process called stacked lamination. Book matched boards ensure grain and colour continuity. These boards are cut down into lengths of timber which are temporarily assembled and roughly carved using power tools, then each individual length is carved by hand to refine the flowing shapes as well as allowing any movement to come out of the material before gluing the pieces together. Gluing the pieces together first, then shaping could result in warping due to the amount of material removed.

The doors and drawers to the Sculpted Wooden Cabinet are all push to open Blum Hardware to ensure natural lines without the use of exposed hardware.

For a list of the Tools/Glues/Finishes and Camera Gear I use (affiliate links)-

Standard Questions-
- What glue do I use? Titebond 3 and Polyurethane glue (foamy glue)
- What finish do I use? Osmo Oil satin

I am an old (76) and experienced woodworker, and son I must say, you are an artist. That cabinet is the best thing I have seen in many a long year. Congratulations on your fine work. I was also pleased to see the Jet/Powermatic/Festool equipment in your workshop. My first choice also.

Dude doesnt make furniture, he makes pieces of art, the fact that it can be used as furniture is a nice bonus. Bravo.

SPEECHLESS! There isn't a furniture museum good enough to showcase that "gem".

This is my first video of your work. The video itself is so relaxing, the piece unfold like a sculpture. A functional sculpture, truly one of the most elegant pieces I've seen in a long time.

This was emotional. I am genuinely moved by this piece. You are more than a furniture maker, you are a creator. An artist. I’m honestly honored to be able to watch it come together!

It is October 5th 2021, this video currently has 6 thumbs down.
6 morons watched this and didn't like it.
Makes you wonder.
Are they jealous?
Even without the tasteful editing the piece of furniture is absolutely beautiful and unique.

Wonderful lesson in working curved surfaces! Also, your design sense is exceptional. There's a cool balance between daring and restraint. And the production values of your videos are excellent. Thanks again.
