This Roubo Workbench is one of the most complex pieces Ive ever made and by no means was that intentional. I though it would be done in a matter of weeks yet it took two and a half months of non stop construction. Not to mention the amount of time planning and editing. But all the features turned out as I'd hoped if not better.
This bench takes full advantage of the standard tail vise and leg vise but also incorporates a moxon vise, shoulder vice and pattern makers vise, as well as a pop up gap stop and a hidden wheel system which isn't common on a bench like this.
Even though this workbench is quite over the top, as mentioned in the video this bench was an exploration of ideas as well as an enjoyable process in which I'll always remember. Shop furniture doesn't always have to be quick and to the point, it can also be an experience.
One of my main objectives with this bench is to hopefully trigger ideas within yourself to maybe incorporate into your own workflow .

As always thank you so much for your support here on YouTube. The fact that you even watch my videos means I can continue to make more unique builds and share them with you. And if you haven’t already, please consider subscribing as this will help my videos to get pushed out to more and more people.

In art school, on my first day at a drawing class, my professor asked us to open our brand new sketch books and draw a large X on the first sheet. This was to take away the stigma of the virgin quality of the paper; it was meant to be drawn on, explored! This may sound sadistic but you should place a hammer blow on the bench top to exorcise the fear of damaging it. You are a brilliant designer and a master craftsman. Keep up the good work!

I don’t know what to say. Have been a cabinetmaker/furniture maker for 48 years and I’m completely lost for words. That piece is quite amazing.

It's the second time I've spent the morning in my nightshirt watching this video, drinking coffee in a peaceful relaxing time of bliss, watching a true craftsman engage in his craft. Many thanks.

Man, every YT-er with "ultimate workbench" in it's title, has to change the title to "tried to make the ultimate workbench, but didn't succeed".
What you've made is beyond an ultimate workbench and is an ultimate display of craftmanship and eye for detail.
I can't imagine the amount of time, glue, sweat and tears, but man, be proud of this piece of art.

This is not just impressive workmanship. This is impressive design, followed by meticulous, calculated craftmanship. This is an absolutely prime piece of machinery. Well done mate! This is certainly something to be inspired by, and something you can most definitely feel proud about achieving.

I have been woodworking since the late 60's and this is the most impressive woodworking bench design and build I have ever seen. Truly the "Mother of all Benches"!!
Not only was it a build that I will never forget, but it truly can become a new standard for many to emanate for years to come.
You have truly built something that many strive for but never achieve. I just feel fortunate to have viewed this video and experienced what it documented.
Cheers my friend ...

Hardly overkill, this is a dream bench that solves the problems of an artist/woodworker. Congratulations on making your dream come true!

This is it, this is the best woodworking video on the internet. Your skill in the shop is matched by your skill in the studio. Great craftsmanship, great storytelling, great filmmaking, great editing. This video, and the bench made in it, is a masterpiece. 10/10.

Regular people will never understand level of master class in this video. I have seen hundreds of great woodworkers on youtube but only a few can compare their work to this guy. Level of details is just otherworldly.

I’m no longer able to work wood but I get great vicarious joy in seeing a craftsman whose imagination, design creativity and attention to functional improvements like yours are executed. What an exceptional bit of design and execution. How I would have loved to work on that bench! Huzzahs

I last did proper woodwork (and metalwork) back in high school in the early eighties. I've done a fair amount of tables, bookshelves, basic stuff. This video is absolutely jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, dozens of levels above what I haven't even dreamed about. Thank you for creating this masterpiece. Pedulla Studio is definitely now at the top of my youtube woodworkers list. Thank you for sharing your amazing skills and techniques with slobs like me!
