How to quickly square a two-digit number that ends in 5
?
For example, 35
Step 1: Multiply the first digit by itself plus 1.
Step 2: Put a 25 at the end.
35 squared = [3 x (3 + 1)] & 25

[3 x (3 + 1)] = 12

12 & 25 = 1225

35 squared = 1225

you could also do this: 2nd+d^2 where n is one of the numbers you start with (pick a square you know or a close ten) and d is the square roots, the higher one subtracting the lower one. for example the square of 27 by using 20 as an anchor number= 2(20)(7)+7^2=280+49=329. 329+ 400(meaning 20^2)=729 or 27^2

i will tell you an easy way to find square no.
you know the identity that is
(a+b)^2 =a^2+2ab+b^2
then for example let us take 12.
now first digit of no. will be A and the second digit B
now apply the identity:-
a^2+2ab+b^2
(1)^2 | 2×1×2 | (2)^2
1|4|4
so you get the answer 144
you can try that method on any two digit number
thank you..

I had another method for xy^2 for ex 34^2, you just quare the last digit, 4 which is 16 then take 1. Next you multiply the first digit to 2 then to the last digit, 3 x 2 x 4 which is 24 and add 1 you take to 25 then continue to take 2, finally quare the first digit, 3^2 is 9, and add the 2 you take to 11. So 34^2 is 1156

I love this series. A lot of people keep asking for more obscure examples. They have a whole website that goes over the other cases specifically if you're curious. A lot of people keep asking what if its 74 or 43 or 61 etc etc. They cover that example as well on their website but you basically do the same thing. Base 10 times the multiple. So in this case 74 - base 10* 7; 43 base 10 * 4; 61 - base 10 *6. Same steps just 1 small tweak before the final answer. I would check out their site I just found them recently and their way of teaching you to think about numbers differently is absolutely beautiful.
