I really wish I was taught mental math at an early age. I could never grasp the concept of numbers and unfortunately got left behind, really quickly. I'm about to take my first college algebra course and I'm trying to prepare myself. The way you explained things is really helping!

My experience as Math consultant: when taught at early age, quick/mental calculation helps kids to develop a math mindset. Most of my math students now are able to build their own strategy of learning math, and become math lovers.

I have to say one thing, you should have been my teacher when I was younger, because this method is much faster than any other method I have learned at school. Thank you so much I am going to practice this everyday!

6:25&& Compliments shortcut

1. Always go from Left To Right
2. Convert hard problems into simple problems (chunking)
3. Be creative

1. Pendekatan bilangan
2. Lalu dijumlah/dikurangi sesuai pendekatan awal

6:29 Compl(i)ments really are a huge help.
Calling me a genius at the beginning of the video not only restored my feeling of self worth, but also helped me to get the motivation I needed, to acquire a new, useful skill. This guy really knows what he’s talking about. Cheers mate

The timeline of this video is exactly same in the sum (759) LoL 🤣

759+496
In cases like this you can also just take approx values like let's say 759 is 760 and 496 is 500. So you add 760+500 which is 1260 BUT we took approx values so just subtract, in this case we added 4 digits to 496 and 1 digit to 759, thats a total of 5 digits we need to get rid off, so answer is 1255.

Left to right and compliment approach is something new for me but adding or subtracting larger chunks first and then add/subtract the remaining is something I have been doing for very long time. I didn't learn it from anywhere but it is something that was logical and most people do similar thing. Like chunks of 100s, 50s, 25s, 10s, 5s first then add/subtract the remaining.
