It just doesn't fell like it did in 1980 when gold, that had been for years at $35, then $42 and ounce went to $800 USD. As an old guy, I saw the gold high in 1980. When the market peaked, everyone was into gold. Mining companies sprang up out of nowhere and had a rush to explore. Individuals were camping out in the woods panning, sluicing and dredging. Nothing like that is happening now. The price will continue to increase until there is widespread excitement about gold. We will have reached a top when my neighbor sees me in my yard and asks if I’ve seen the price of gold, and there is a general excitement. And we will see that everyone wants to go prospecting and find some gold.

Joined the rush a few years ago. Building knowledge has been the best asset

After binge watching many of your videos over the last month, and dreaming of finding gold ourselves for years hubby and I hit the creek on Sunday and after digging for hours with no luck I found what looked like a promising bit of dirt! We chucked it in the bucket and then traveled home talking about where we can holiday in future to be able to actually realize our dream one day. Low and behold when we got home my husband panned off what we brought from the creek and much to our surprise and disbelief we found our first flakes of gold! The best weekend ever! Thanks for the inspiration!!!

It builds up slowly, but before you know it you are sitting on a nice little amount.

That GEO sluice works very well as a highbanker. Compared to a typical mesh over m.moss, the take-home concentrates are a fraction, the capture rate is excellent (provided you have the right angle/water flow), storage capacity is comparable and clean=ups take one minute. I sold all my typical equipment and gas pump years ago and share my time using 4 x different drop riffle highbankers and 3 different river sluices. I just retired last year at age 69 and switching to drop riffles was and still is my best decision I ever made, based on my 35 years dabbling in gold prospecting. All the best to everyone, no matter what you use. (Canada) ⛄

Only worry is there will be people that will start doing the wrong thing & lock everyone out.

I'm one of the Old Timers who began chasing gold in creeks, rivers and hard rock in the 1960's. One technique to share today is what I call "after the shovel." Once the rocky overburden is cleared and processed, go back over the area with a dustpan and stiff brush against the bedrock, especially in the cracks. I found the thing that works the best is to cut the bottom off of a gallon politic jug on an angle so that you are left with the handle on one end and a sooth scoop on the other. Use a heavy pair of scissors to cut it so you have a smooth lip to lay against the surface and use a stiff parts cleaning brush to broom the fines into the scoop. I've found that I collect much more with this method than in all of the foot of river sediment I process above the bedrock.

I wish I had found out about this before I got old

I am nearly 71 and live in Central West NSW. There are active gold mines within 2 hour drives but my local creeks seem to be sandy, and no bedrock is obvious. Therefore, I will leave it to you and enjoy tagging along on your adventures here on YouTube.

One of my favourites is that, the space shuttle Colombia arrived at NASA ready for launch just as hydrothermal vents (black smokers) in the Pacific abyss were discovered and found to have organisms living on them that did not rely on sunlight for energy...showing that there was potential for more life in the Universe than just here on Earth (1979)
The Shuttles also launched the space telescopes that showed there were potentially M class planets orbiting other stars.

I would love to be in on the new gold rush...not going to happen unfortunately YouTube was in many ways a gold rush in its own right and I missed that one too lol
great video Mr Chris I didnt realise those events were happening together thats a cool historical tidbit,
thanks for sharing

Much research has led me to start prospecting! With the market going crazy it’s a great time to invest and/or start with gold! Everything adds up so quickly so you never realize how such a small amount is worth a ton!
