Way cool video. I agree that it was the aero drag that increased the consumption. Weight on flat terrain is not the issue that it would be going up hills.

You could have picked a more aerodynamic trailer than that wind-catcher ramp equipped unit from Home Depot. It was meant for local haulage, usually to your home from the nearest Home depot. U-haul has some covered types that are more suitable for moving by road trip.

I've never seen sensors around wires for signal on trailer hitch! should be something specific for tesla? Usually when you clamp it, it has small blade inside that cut insulation.

Would be interesting to see the consumption in stop and go traffic. Will the regen ratio be about the same? I'm sure there's some model X videos out there i could look up.

Model 3s in Australia do have a trailer mode.

Great video! In Italy we have different speed limit if you tow more than 400 Kg (880 lb). Normally the limit is 130 km/h (80 mph), but if you tow the limit is 80 km/h (49 mph).
I wonder the consumption at low speed... it would be interesting to know ;-)

What was the total weight of trailer and load? I have a LR RWD with 18" aero wheels. Want to tow a 900lb jet ski

I wasn't sure those were considered trailer stalls because the trailer sticks out. I was thinking they were for people that were uncomfortable backing in (which Tesla needs a feature for!). In Europe and other countries, it seems there are genuine pull-thru trailer stalls that also keep the trailer out of parking lot traffic.

Hey Kyle looks good, defiantly doable to trailer with it. Like you said if the trailer was more aerodynamic then it could go much farther with the same weight. I'll have to get a hitch for my model 3 and try towing things. Who knows I could probably work out of my car at that point. Thanks,

Very impressed with the towing capacity of the model 3, I didn't think it was rated for any towing. It was actually really awesome.
