For those who don’t know this is the chapter master Dante he is the chapter master of the blood angles and one of the oldest astartes that is not a dreadnought. During the devastation of baal the home world of the blood angles Dante was almost killed by tyranids but was save by one of aspects of sanguinius came and brought him back to life. Most likely because of a prophecy of him saving the emperor one day

Dante: "Stop giving me your hardest battles and let me die!"
Sanguinius: "Son, you're the only one getting anything done in the chapter."

As Dante stood up once more, all the chaos gods cowered in fear. For not iven them were capable of such level of cruelty

Dante: "Please stop giving me your toughest battles..."
Sanguinius: "You are my strongest soldier"

Dante: "WHAT'S NEXT? DREADNOUGHT!?" *Gets into dreadnought and dies heroic death few years later, then respawns as living saint* Dante: "FUUUU!"

What's funny is that Dante had another chance to die during his fight with Angron but was saved by The Lion.

The light was dying; Sanguinius’ smile carried with it the sorrows of ten thousand years. Darkness was returning. The Great Angel disappeared into it, but his glorious voice lingered a moment.

‘I am sorry, my son, that you cannot rest. Not yet. Live, my son. Live.’

Dante returned to life screaming for the mercy of death.

Hands were all over Dante, holding him down. Sharp pains intruded via his neural shunts.

‘No, no, no! No more! Take me with you! I beg you!’ Dante shouted.

He lashed out with his fist. Metal hit metal.

‘Hold him! Hold him down! He is coming round!’

-Devastation of Baal, a phenomenally good scene from an already great book. This and Dante meeting Guilliman are both great.

When I first read the devastation of baal, I wanted to both cry from sadness and laugh hysterically when Dante woke up and beat his apothecary to shit after he was resurrected

And people call Big E a bad dad. Guess we know that trait passed onto one of his "good" sons.
