Following the Supreme Court ruling to limit affirmative action in colleges and universities, prominent Democrats such as former President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Cory Booker expressed their disappointment with the decision. NBC News' Kristen Welker reports.

60-70% of American agree with abortion right and side with pro-choice. But, with affirmative action 70-80% of Americans oppose race-based affirmative action, which includes the majority of Whites, Asians, and Hispanics. Even a large section of Black Americans are against race-based affirmative action.

I respect President Obama and as a matter of fact I voted for him. But I can tell he would not be admitted by Harvard academically if he didn't list himself as Black.

Guys California abolished affirmative action in all levels of education and state public employment and we are still diverse, these responses are quite over exaggerating. A more merit based is better and measuring melanin should not be a factor. The next thing we need to abolish are legacy students getting preferred over anyone else.

Why are you crying Obama did the same thing. lol ... Remember this ... Obama, who asks voters neither to support nor oppose him on the basis of his race, has dealt gently with affirmative action. He says his two young daughters have enjoyed great advantages and therefore should not receive special consideration because of their race.

"On the other hand, " he said in an April debate, "if there's a young white person who has been working hard, struggling, and has overcome great odds, that's something that should be taken into account" by people such as college admission officers.

"So I still believe in affirmative action as a means of overcoming both historic and potentially current discrimination, " Obama said. "But I think that it can't be a quota system and it can't be something that is simply applied without looking at the whole person, whether that person is black, or white, or Hispanic, male or female." They'll figure this one out. There are other qualifying factors that black and brown people possess that will justify granting them admission such as income, geographically destress areas, giving more weight to first generation admission to a university. Variables are Variables that are meant to message for an institution's intent.
