If you're prepping for job interviews, I have a few insights to share. With over 18 years of diverse experience across continents, this is my humble attempt to contribute to your professional success and make your journey a tad bit easier. It's not going to be easy, but if you're persistent in learning, developing, and growing, I promise you, there is no way you can't succeed. 🤝
So stand up straight and hang in there. I've got your back. :)
When preparing for a job interview, avoid these statements to maintain professionalism and leave a positive impression:
Negative Comments About Previous Employers: Criticizing former employers or colleagues can come off as unprofessional and negative.
Discussing Salary Expectations Too Early: Bringing up salary and benefits prematurely can suggest that you’re only interested in the compensation.
Admitting Lack of Company Research: Not knowing about the company indicates a lack of preparation and interest.
Using Overused Clichés: Phrases like "I'm a perfectionist" without context can seem insincere.
Expressing Desperation: Saying you’re desperate for the job can undermine your confidence.
Sharing Overly Personal Information: Focus on professional qualifications rather than personal details.
Showing Unpreparedness: Saying you don’t have any questions when asked shows a lack of engagement.
Avoiding these pitfalls will help you present yourself as a well-prepared and professional candidate.

Please know this, opportunities are created, not found. You have exceptional talent, both in the form of professional and personal talent. You could be a software developer professionally, but also a great cook, home organizer or guitarist.. If you have a skill, from anything as simple as cooking a fresh meal for someone to helping build a startup by developing software, or even something as sweet as singing a happy birthday song for my mum on her 70th birthday, you are very much valuable to the community ❤️. The only question is, how do we create an opportunity for you to showcase your skills and get you in front of the audience you truly deserve? 🤔
And that's why I founded Taskly, a platform that helps you do just that:
1. Showcase your skills, and
2. Get in front of customers
So if you have a skill, I welcome you to join me as I build Taskly - A community where you can create multiple services, set your own price tags, and find potential customers willing to hire you for one off Tasks. How cool is that? 🙌
This is my humble attempt to contribute to the wonderful society I live in, and this remarkable country I call home. Excited to know what's yours?
