buyer followers isn’t about making you feel good, its about attracting business.

I definitely agree with you and i dont advocate for people to pay for followers. However, often times perception is everything. Photographer with “more” followers tend to book more clients vs those photographers with “small” following. It comes down to many factors but we cant deny that having a lot of followers makes a difference- even if they are fake, dont interact etc…

The sooner you’re able to ignore numbers and concentrate on the output of your creative process, the sooner you’ll discover it’s genuinely not about the numbers.

The problem with this logic is this… Instagram is also about what your prospective customers, clients, business partners, etc. SEE when they arrive at your page. They will immediately make an assumption about you based off of the vanity metric of your follower count and write it down as your status. So, if the crowd is sold out, and there are many mannequins inside, when your targeted audience walks by the window and see the crowd and the sold out sign, will they care who’s actually inside. lol but you better be funny once they get in there!!! 🥂

Great analogy, thanks for that...I'm trying to grow organically. Every now and then, I get those kinds of offers, and I turn them down. To tell you the truth, it really makes me feel good about myself. Like you said, it's better to have a smaller but interested and active following than a large one that doesn't care! Keep it up, you're making great stuff. You're telling us what we NEED to hear, rather than what we want 🙌🏽 big ups!

This is why I always cull my 'new followers' I dont want people who are only here for a minute. I want people who I can build freindships with, who can interact with and enjoy my posts. I may end up growing slower, but my following is more defined and more relevant to what I post. I'm amazed not many people do this!

Thank you brother. I needed this. We get stuck on needing more followers. We forget to build meaningful connections.

By far the best advice I've seen. Great analogy, and a good reminder that it should be fun, if you're stressing about how many people are in your audience, you'll burn out and hate it

Well said. Personally it is how I view my following. As in I have a number which IG says is my follower count, and then I have a number which I consider is my real meaningful follower number. Even though that meaningful follower number is a lot less, (since IG is full of bots, spam and ghost accounts that you cannot stop), that smaller number is more important to me that any larger number IG might tell me. Reason being, that small group of followers has meaning behind them. They are not just a number, but a person, one I have more than likely chatted with and know stuff about. For me one of them is worth more than a million as generic number. In essence they are worth more than any money can buy.

This is a PERFECT explanation. Build a community, not just a number. 10K engaging followers, are so much better than 1M randoms who rarely engage with your content ever. Believe it or not, less is more actually, because of you just let these bot accounts run wild, your metrics are severely flawed as well and you won’t get a real representation of your analytics.

Reminds me of my 3000+ followers I had some years ago on an art website and it felt like 10-20 of them were still active, not because these accounts were fake or anything, but the users simply didn't use that website anymore (or they followed so many people, that they did not really bother with my stuff, haha).
Such a number is good for nothing, if nobody is active.

My account got suspended today for literally no reason. I did everything already. About the form, they're not letting me submit it saying the decision can't be disputed. Years of my chats, posts, reels, people, communities are gone. Pls help me. Can anyone pls give me some advice as to what to do? I'm on my knees begging. I'm crying my balls out. Can't stop thinking about it. I'm devastated.

Well i think if you have 500 real followers and 1000 fake followers it shows 1500 followers if you have 1500 followers real and post a picture you get about 100 120 like per pics now if you have 500 followers and you post a pic you still get 100 120 likes difference if most people will tente to follow you more if you have 1500 followers then if you have 500 same likes.

Non-engaged Followers contribute literally nothing except to a deceptively inflated number. I run a fan account for a singer. All too often these days, I'll get a new Follower who follows me but not the singer. That's a telltale sign that something may be amiss. And these are just the public accounts I can see. IG has become so overrun with bots lately it's ridiculous!😊

Thanks for the video. I suspected this was the case. I use Instagram hoping to sell my book. I've heard about buying followers. I considered buying followers, but when I thought about it, I assumed everything you talked about in this video.

Totally agree with you. Thank you for your short-well explained video. Do you have any advice to increase organic growth on Instagram, other than constantly making Reels, buying fake followers and only using hashtags? Because sometimes the growth can be so slow and at the end of the day, as a social media officer, I have to show some good numbers.

Dont know if you read this but thank you so much, just exactly what I needed to hear. I am just starting my IG account trying to build a community for my business plan as an old stay at home mom. In my opininon, as a beginner I am gaining good number of views but not followers. There are days when a follower would unfollow and it would literally break my heart. But then, I told myself, it's okay perhaps they are not the people who would appreciate and embrace my content. Coming from you now, it feels reassuring. Even if my followers are just a few number (for now) as long as they are the right people for my content, Im okay with that. But of course, who wouldnt like a large numbers of followers😂😂😂 Again, thank you.

Great advice. But I always make sure that I ring up my followers to make sure that they are all doing fine and keeping well . Just an after sales tip of advice

Even if you are multi talented, people tend to correlate your followers and likes to whatever is associated w you . Unfortunately, thats the truth about creating a brand/business

I also have the same opinion as you, I also don't want fake followers. Even though many of my friends have used fake followers. But I believe it's better to have few real people who have similar interests rather than to have thousands of fake people who don't interact
