But, Vhagar was riderless so, Laena took her chance to claim her, just like Aemond did after she died.

And he's right, if Vhagar meant so much to them, either one could've claimed Vhagar in the what, well over a week (no, a month probably) it's been since Laena's death and their travel across the Narrow Sea and landed in Driftmark, waiting for the families to gather? I get the girls are mourning but like, one of them could've tried to connect with Vhagar even if just for some comfort.

He was picked on for not having a Dragon and then he claimed the largest one. Laena went out and found Vhagar, then claimed her. Aemond did the same, why is it any different?

Vhagar has never once been passed from Parent to Child in her life.

There was no guarantee that Rhaena was gonna be able to claim Vhagar anyway. It's probably for the best she didnt, remember what happened the last time a small little girl claimed the most powerful dragon alive.

The problem I have with Aemond is that he claimed Vhagar at the wrong time. This is what people don’t understand, that time was for grieving but Aemond & the Greens just had to ruin it.
