Thank you for this DIY video. We have a 12 year old Samsung washer and dryer that have never given us any issues before today. I suspected the sensor was the issue but had not idea where to locate it or how to test it. When I stuck my head in the dryer I found an old dryer sheet had been caught behind the lint trap housing and was completely covering the sensors. I removed the sheet and ran the diagnostic test as described in the video. I am now confident the issue has been resolved.

Another video said clean the sensor bars with sandpaper. Scratching the bars will allow buildup and render them useless. Use a Scotch Pad to remove dirt and soap buildup

A little bit of rubbing alcohol on the sensors and now I am getting the correct readings. Thanks!

"If the meter shows ohms of resistance, you'll know the sensor has shorted".. this confused the hell out of me until I thought about what should actually be happening here.. I think whoever made this video thought a reading of 1 meant no resistance.. when actually it means the resistance is so high the multimeter can not measure it. So unless I am fundamentally misunderstanding something, the reading should be > max resistance of the multimeter (generally displayed as 1) when no wet cloth is applied

On my multimeter, the readings are correct with and without wet cloth, but when I switched the test leads, it read some unstable numbers without wet cloth, does this mean it is shortened and bad sensor bars or module? Thanks

Hi, I don’t have a way to test my sensors but I’m having an issue with my dryer stopping usually after 1-2 min of starting it for the first time. I then open and close the door and start it again and it runs the complete time for the cycle. Could it be my sensors?

you can also program the computer to a higher level of dry time there 4 levels you forgot to teach us that for some units... and you forgot to show us how to check board if it is getting a single from the bars with your DMM ... if your going to make a video on Moisture bar trouble shooting make a real video not some waste of time like this one man...
