I was just notified by Capital One that my SSN is on the dark web. I've immediately placed a credit freeze and locked all accounts

I made a small order on amazon two days ago and my stupid bank just cancelled it even tho the funds are all there. In the long run it worked out more cheaply for me bc I had to reorder it. It was y plan the other day to change to Wells Fargo from Chase anyway and tomorrow I am doing just that! Chase is the worst, they have no one available to even speak to after 6 pm PST. Tomorrow I will call them and tell them where to go and ofc go to WF. Thx Walter!

Something VERY suspicious about my bank contacting me with a notice concerning my ssn on the dark web. The information was showing my name with an address that hasnt been used in over 30 years and a phone number that hasnt been used in over 15 years. I was never connected with that address or phone number. The address was my grandparent's address for this house but was changed by the state when the new 911 system was put in place. As for the phone number, It was also my grandparent's number which they used over 15 years ago before passing away and then I inherited their house. There is NOTHING that I have ever bought online or offline which I used their old address or disconnected phone number for, and therefore the info is being found and then put onto the dark web from some other means.

My email was found on the dark web. Old email. I didn't know what to do. I get alot of junk spam, lots junk text and calls. My phone is always acting up. If they got your email, do they have ssn? I don't have anything except my home. That's why I didn't worry about it to much. 🤷‍♀️

I had surgery at UCSD. They sent me a letter that all of my records and notes were accessed. Sheesh, I had to pay ten bucks when I wanted a copy for myself, but hackers just take it for free.

My, Federal Tax refund, got slowed in 2008, I called IRS, Lady asked How many returns did I file ? I said "ONE", OF COURSE ! were is my refund, she said we sent it, seems, someone else, used my, #, & received, a "BIG", one. I asked was it same State"? She replied I'am not to tell you, but "NO", was another State. My SS# Was my Military, ID #, was one all my, ISSUE. back in the day. so ??

It happened to my Deceased Mother. They try to sell your home. They steal addresses. They set up accounts in deceased peoples names. Also their estates. Trusts, etc.

it also is a good idea to call all your banks and get a new account or in the least tell them to always verify who you are, i had some clown call my bank with only my card and soc# cleared out that card, every few yrs i get some kinda cc bs its always the same bank ... i think its from a place i used to work for because i also get stupid letters offing 24 months of scam bs ... but they also lose your info its a tottal shitttt show
