What If Columbus Had Never Discovered the Americas

Some of the foods we love today, such as potatoes, tomatoes, and chocolate, would not exist in our cuisine if Columbus had not discovered the Americas. They all originated from the New World. The spice trade would also be very different, without chili peppers to add some heat to European dishes. Imagine how different history would be if the native cultures of the Americas were not affected by European colonization, and if Europe did not benefit from the resources of the New World. In a world without Columbus's journeys, our taste buds would be different and maybe we would live in a world where fries are just fries, without any chili!

Columbus did not “discover” America given a great indigenous population was already here. And he never made it to North America. Furthermore the Vikings were the first Europeans to encounter North America five hundred years earlier. Columbus Day has always been an indefensible crock.

You’re greatly missing one important part of this whole thing. The lack of immunities that Native Americans had against European diseases. It wasn’t only wars that killed large amounts, it was also the diseases that they had never been introduced to that Europeans brought over.

Is there any historical evidence that native Americans had started developing engineering skills? Maybe more so in Latin America?

"They would be seen more as equals...."

Bwahahahhhhahahaa. Someone hasn't read up on their European 15th Century primary sources. Any visitor would have still been looked down upon as less advanced.
