This is not true. When the next video plays, it picks auto and can end up choosing a higher quality. I always want lowest quality because i watch very long spoken word videos on my cellular connection.

Better way is to login to your YouTube account, then goto settings (within Youtube) then goto resolution and select the desired resolution. By default it's been set at "ask everytime, so change it and enjoy.

Log into YouTube.
On the top right, click on your profile picture (if you have one).
Click on the gear icon that says YouTube settings when you hover over it.
From the links in left, click on Playback.
Under Video playback quality switch to the option that says, I have a slow connection. Never play higher-quality video.

Settings - device manager - performance mode - optimised - settings - set screen to wqhd and toggle the video enhancer setting. Should default to 720p (this is for nougat)

It doesn't work, cause when i stop the video, it loads in 360p, and when i change into 144p to avoid data consumption, it simply load the video 2 times. I wish to set a resolution by default before opening all videos
