In this episode, we answer two frequently heard questions about Railway Empire 2 warehouses. 1) Why is my warehouse full of stuff that I can't get rid of? 2) Why won't my full warehouse deliver to the city it is attached to?

Adekyn I have to say that out of all the videos on R.E.2 none of them come close to being as helpful as yours do Sir. Also your R.E.1 videos are also just as helpful. Thank you Brother.

Your original warehouse videos for the previous game were incredibly helpful. I knew exactly who to go to when I downloaded RE2. Thanks again! Loving the new game and this overview was helpful for me understanding how the new warehouses work.

Tricky, but nice to have from the start, I’m only on mission 1 so I’ll try and implement it as soon as possible. Thanks!

Great video!

I've been thinking of an idea for you, something I've been doing research in. In many of my runs, I struggle with train traffic and the S&D. I've come to the conclusion, outside of early game trains just being slow, that the root of the issue from early to late game, all points towards rail line development and the implement of stations. There aren't any videos on it that I can find. I've even tried looking at RL setups.

If you could make a video, maybe even in parts, covering early game strats on stations, great ways to setup both express and freight lines, and overall how to just setup efficient rail lines that would be awesome and I think it would be a successful and helpful video(s).

Personally I've only had success with making a single 4 track system that connects to a main station in all major cities, like a freeway, or autobahn of rail systems, tying in rural businesses as it goes. I still find it's inefficient running all those trains. Is it necessary to have express lines that go from city 1 to city 2, and a line that goes city 2 to city 1, or just 1 line? Better to have cities exchanging freight directly or both meet up at a middle point warehouse? How to implement a seperate freight line and express line with seperate stations? There's a lot that goes unanswered in the tutorial. I look forward to hearing from you or seeing future videos. Love the channel. Still trying to figure this game out.

Well explained. Warehouses in RE2 work completely different from warehouses in RE1.

And thanks for the idea that this can be solved by blocking goods on freight trains. Much better solution than the ones I had (e.g. do not send freight trains to that city or remove products from the warehouse or do not use warehouses in cities at all ...).

Thanks Adekyn, this was a helpful explanation. I've posted this video on steam in one of the busy threads about this topic. This subject has certainly challenged many players.

Just played a custom game with this map and the following issue. Warehouse in Tallahassee was full of wood going everywhere else except Tallahassee (sat at 0 wood for the town). Even needed the wood for the lumber factory; plus said 90 wood was on the way, but NEVER received it. Only way to fix was to delete the wood from the warehouse and start shipping wood from a different warehouse/city; only then was i was able to get wood into Tallahassee.

Thank you. Very good information. I know I was really struggling with this very concept on the last scenario and kinda going crazy.

Thanks. I had the same problem yesterday trying to figure stuff out.

Great topic. I've been trying to explain this on steam.

Another rhing to think about. The host city of the warehouse gets items last. So you need to supply enough items per week for all the direct output to other places PLUS the items you want in the host city. If you don't supply enough, the host city will show zero items coming in.

Bottom line.. It is simple marh. Just match supply and demand and warehouses work fine.

Good learning material. Personally, I also look at how far local industries are from each other in relation to the cities. If the industries are pretty close to each other and pretty close to cities, then I connect all these industries together on two to four rail lines to bring them into a three or four cluster, without using warehouses. It should therefore not be taken into account to indicate manually which goods may not return, because they all originate from an industry and not from a city. I have noticed that warehouses are very useful if 1 trip to a certain city takes longer than the city requires of that one product every week.

The warehouse even 4 months later is a bit of a struggle. I have carefully checked and set everything as it should. I watched your videos and also took care of each line. When the towns go over 70k people the problems begin. Long distances, town business that needs that materials and random incidents that materials just don't load for unknown reasons makes issues.
Some ways to make the condition better:
1) Setting each supply line to use just 1 station line. ( Otherwise if 2 trains load at the same time it will wait both of them to load at least 8. )
2) Dedicated station on each town just for warehouse supply.

I believe the developers should set some stuff different. For example when you have a train directly to a town it will keep loading materials till it goes around 10. Warehouse aims for less but sometimes it will do send 15 materials together.

The warehouse makes me want to run single lines to each town. I try to make it work, i really do.

Hi.

Love your content. After watching your video, I went back to England wales scenario 2, and found the issue with broken warehouses may just be a bug. Your tip gave an idea of deleting and re-adding the same cargo back to the warehouse.

This is my setup. I have warehouses central to London and Birmingham. They run great unto London hits 100k or until I add a dispatch hall. Also I built a university in London. Not sure if this is the actual trigger but ut I have 15 trains going to 1 warehouse.

Out of the blue my London Easton and Birmingham direct trains start skipping the warehouse. Just driving straight through.

First I tried setting a minimum load…. Nope. The trains just run straight though with no load. I also checked the load cargo destinations. Both London and Birmingham had cargo allocated for deliver to them.

I went ahead and d reset and re-added all six cargo types, which set them to zero. Also my various cities started to shrink.

Reseting took some time to get the warehouses restocked but the issue still happens. I have planks Destin for London Essen, and no where else, but the train just scoot right though, not even slowing down.

I added a new train to that same line, which starts at the warehouse, and the new train was fully loaded before leaving. However the next train picked up nothing. It appears that my two largest cities are not providing any demand to the warehouse.. Except for the planks.

After the first load was picked the new train started skipping stations as well.

My train traffic is not backed up. My cities are not large. I am only up to 6 items in my supply and demand setup. I have not even been able to start making furniture or other advanced items.

Thanks for any help

Another well explained video Adekyn.
Playing through the scenarios, we tend to follow the same strategy of a pax middle station and then what I call an outer freight ring and an inner freight ring.
One query I had and I don’t know if it is a bug or my misinterpretation of warehouses. In Santa Fe (scenario 4 I think) I had logs delivered to the outer freight ring WH @ Santa Fe. I then had an inner freight line connected to Raton. I was expecting the logs delivered to the WH (outer ring) and transfer to the inner ring (no WH) in order to ship them to Raton. For some reason it would not do it and I ended up running a second log station through the inner freight ring direct to Raton. Am 9 missing something here?

As I type this, I may not have founded Raton and maybe materials need to go direct? 🤷🏻‍♂️. That said I also struggled with Oklahoma City as it would not take the last 8 wheat either direct or into either of my inner/outer freight stations to found it which makes me think it could be a bug.

do you hear this said ? ...i cannot build a warehouse let alone use it. it doesn't show up anywhere was thinking maybe money but it still shows other assetts facilities etc that i can't purchase, but as i said does NOT show me the warehouse that's as basic as i can explain this also shows up saying demand is fulfilled therefore stock levels are i never built a warehouse, and it won't let me build one sure it's not a bug??....edit...i'm just frustrated and i almost knew this guide wasn't going to solve the issue i'm having no offence, i wouldn't mind but i literally just started after finishing the tutorial.. is there a cooldown period after being researched?...cheers

Warehouses now don’t work in my opinion. Playing the France scenario now and I have a wheat farm close to a city producing beer. I put a warehouse in that city hosting wheat. That city is connected to 4 different cities. It’s not logical that all those four cities now have priority over the city producing beer resulting in the city producing beer now having no wheat which is what is happening.
