They were actually Russian and Ukrainian troops who helped Transnistria.

Everyone talking about the Ukrainian volunteers.

Lsten, I'm Romanian, of course I support Moldova and see it as part of Romania, and if the Russians stepped foot into Moldova I would go and fight, but I still don't resent those Ukrainians who in the 90s supported Russia.

You have to understand that the Soviet Union only collapsed 2 years prior and many Ukrainians saw themselves as being one people with the Russians. It's a truth that many Ukrainians nowadays will deny, but it's how it is. The number of pro Russian Ukrainians has basically gone trough the floor since the late 2000s, but that was 1992.

It's all stupid nationalism, which I so dread and will always do so, but which I have to recognize the fact that most people fall for it.

When the Americans invaded Iraq, the overwealming majority of Americans were in full patriotic fever and supported the criminal invasion, simply because it is human nature to blindly support your own.

I hate that this is the case, and the sad reality is that untold millions have died because of this and that's not going to change anytime soon. I don't hate those people though, and if the Russians invaded I would go and I would try and kill them but then still I wouldn't hate them. They're merely pawns controlled by hateful concepts and ideas, "for king and country" sort of stuff.

I hope for the day when all of mankind will reject these ideas, and when everyone will think for themselves and fight against hatred, be it their own country's against another.

No one talks about the deportation of the Romanians during the soviet era. No one talks about the fact, that the Russians who live there were settled there by force during the era of Stalin. And finally, no one talks about the fact, that this war was provoked by ukranian paramilitaries of the UNSO (YHCO) legion. After the moldovan and romanian army fought against this seperatists, Russia thought, that they tried to kill the Russians there, but they fought against the seperatists who were supported by the ukrainian peoples self defence... And now, everyone wants to support Ukraine... This territory was and is historical romanian clay, as well as the R. of Moldova is romanian, but was annexed by Russia and USSR! Transnistria belongs to Moldova nd Moldova belongs to Romania!🇲🇩🤝🏻🇷🇴

RUSSIAN AND UKRAINIAN TROOPS. That is lie by omission

1. Transnistria has never been part of Moldova. In the 1920s, this territory was separated from Ukraine, and the Moldavian SSR was created here, because in the USSR there was a policy that every nation should have its own republic. And then Moldova was annexed. In order not to have 2 republics, Transnistria was annexed to Moldova. But in fact, Russians and Ukrainians have always lived on this territory. Even now, about 45% of the population are Russians, 30% Ukrainians, 25% Moldovans.
2. Russia does not claim this territory, because it has never been part of the national regions of Russia, but was part of "Little Russia" (the territory inhabited by Ukrainians).
3. At the collapse of the USSR, Russia recognized the borders of Moldova. The only reason why Russia led troops in Transnistria is the oppression of Russians and Ukrainians. And yes, Ukraine also sent troops there. What is the reason? Transnistria was an autonomy within Moldova, in addition to the Moldovan language, Russian and Ukrainian were official languages. In 1992, the Moldovan government abolished autonomy, banned all languages except Moldovan, and the discontented were beaten by the police. Therefore, the only requirement of Russia is the restoration of autonomy. Although now Putin sees this as an opportunity to fulfill his imperial ambitions by annexing this territory.

Lets not forget about Abkhazia in which Russians called them “Imperialists” while invading georgia or how Russians called Chechen independence fighters “Terrorists” for being Muslim now Ukrainians are called “Nazis” for being anti Russian after Russia took crimea. All excuses excuses form the russian side

Any ru gains from this war will encourage others to seek territorial change through military action, thus resulting in many new wars.

Moldovans are in fact largley opposed to the idea of going to war with Transnistria, one of the reasons is their lacking military abilities, but for the most part Moldovans just don't want to spoil their already poverished lives (because it is the poorest country in Europe) through another war on their soil. Moreover, there is a significant pro-Russian faction inside Moldova (there were a couple pro-Russian presidents already), so, whatever happens, going to war would be the last resort deision for them, which they can even opt not to take.
