You can bet there was some under the table deals between the developer and zoning or someone on a board or counsel.

Had this kind of thing round my way. New homes being built,
I ask "What happens when it floods?"
"It doesn't flood."
"Yes, it does." i say
"How do you know then?"
"Born here."

I must say the homes have only been flooded the twice in the 15 years since they have been built, however the underground car park...

Solution: stop building houses in swamps.

Driving down the B-line, they’re starting to “fill in” the area in between Orlando and cocoa and build houses…luckily a lot of that land is preserved, but what isn’t preserved is getting dumped with dirt….can’t wait to see those homes owners ask why their foundation in sinking in 10 years..

Got news for that HOA President, if your development was built 8 to 12 inches below the flood line, you are in a flood zone. Whether they deem it a flood zone or not, you would be stupid not to have flood insurance. I just find it hilarious that people would buy in a development built below the flood line.

Buy flood insurance? In a flood zone? Whoever said that was probably put in office by an insurance company.
