DJ is one of a kind. There will never be a QB like DJ who lasted 6 seasons as a franchise QB.Hasn't averaged 1 TD per game since yr 1. Amazing how long his career lasted.

That one flea flicker play is the final nail in the coffin for DJ as a giant

The cherry on top is all of the games that have been determined by 1 score.

I hope this chapter is behind us. I have always believed in Daboll & think he is one of the best offensive minds in the game but just never had the QB to do what he wants to do. Hopefully we can get him a QB.

I think that John Mara had something to do with Jones getting the initial contract and then not benching him earlier. Schoen and Daboll know talent and had to know after the playoff game that Jones was not that guy.

i really wanted DJ to ball out but man takes forever to let go of the ball and just doesnt look comfortable 😭 i feel like we can have a good team playoff team if we had consistent qb play

He's mentally shot. Always slow to process but now confidence is gone. He's done as a Giant.
Shame, because he really did have potential. Hard worker and good guy. Great runner.
He'll probably sign somewhere as a backup.

He will make a good back up quarterback. He showed up better this year with new quicker schemes. He does not have a quick mind but has definite strengths that could be used in a back up situation. Over his career here he was sacked due to poor protection. Thanks for a fair evaluation of the game shown here. If you can prove a point by breaking it down like that-ok. I feel like those who wrote his obituary early on evaluated everything on that basis. Doug

I picked him out before he was drafted. He was the 5th ranked qb in the article I read about him coming out. He has all the tools 🛠️ it never had a OL, or a consistent coach. Now he’s mentally ruined… he will be a backup somewhere

He's in year SIX and this guy isn't just inconsistent game to game, he's inconsistent drive to drive. He doesn't have the skills to be a starting QB at this level, never did. And I actually think it's getting worse because I think the guy is being broken down by the pressure. His personality seems non existent, he's eating all the criticism, keeping a stiff upper lip and all that but that stuff is bouncing around inside him all day, every day unless he's a sociopath that just doesn't feel anything.

Good review, Digge. Just reviewed the game. Daboll's play-calling was as bad as DJ's execution.
Both interceptions outside the numbers in a condensed field. Lesson - go to the goal line, not the sideline.
Int #1 - Clowny read it & made a great play. DB read the play, too. DJ doesn't have the ball skills or dexterity of Mahomes or Jackson. In his hands in that situation, ball possession is at risk. While DJ is not exonerated, Daboll must know this by now. It's a stupid play at that field position. Keep it simple.
Int #2 - This play was preceded by a stupid call shifting Nabers & handing him the ball. Razzle Dazzle has no business in critical situations with a short field. Didn't work, of course. Led to 3rd & goal at the 7. Go to the goal line, not the sideline. Nothing to be gained. This is more DJ's fault, and Tracy would've been better positioned near the goal line or to block assist. DJ needed to get the ball to his best receivers. Tracy had both hands on the ball, but DJ threw it behind him with a LBer bearing down. I put f/u liability 75% Jones, 25% Tracy. Questionable use of RB in that situation.
Tracy's fumble - Calling a draw play on 1st and 10 from your own 25 is not a good idea. Had Tracy not fumbled, you're looking at 2nd & 13 from your own 22. Running a quick trap, or a dive between the tackles, or a play action button hook is more effective at getting distance from your own goal line. Keep things simple in crucial situations.
DJ's deficits - poor eye-speed - can't anticipate routes or hit receivers in stride. Poor reads from the pocket. Res Ipsa Loquitur.
DJ is very, very smart and mechanically sound but lacks the natural instincts and present moment awareness to effectively play the QB position to its fullness. Within limited parameters, he can be very effective passing & running, but that approach will always limit the offense's ability to run up the score. In tight quarters where judgement & dexterity are required, he is prone to error.
Ohhh - the flea flicker was well designed but should've been called after securing first down. My word...

I wonder if JS asked DJ to wave his injury clause?
