What if we aimed Hubble at Earth?

For anyone wondering why it's blurry, it's not because Hubble is moving fast, it's because our atmosphere has heat waves moving, the same principle that makes stars twinkle, it makes taking pictures much harder.

Edit: I wrote JWST instead of hubble, thanks to guys in replies for pointing that out! Also, thanks for 100 likes!

Edit 2: For people who want to understand why not everything is blue as seen from space when the ozone layer makes it look so, you can read my reply in the replies section below. Thank you!

Edit 3: Thank you so much guys for 700 likes! Y'all are awesome!

Fun fact, some of the first space telescopes were decommissioned NRO space based IMINT collection platforms (aka spy satellites). I forget who the organization receiving the satellite was, but they had to promise never to turn it back around at the Earth because they would get to see how advanced the capabilities were, and NRO wasn't going to declassify that little nugget!

So glad you mentioned military spy sats, however you would be shocked at what they can actually do.

Hubble is also designed to focus on tiny areas that have low light levels. If it tried to take a photo of the Earth (or the Moon), the amount of light would overwhelm the electronics. That's why it has a lid on the end that can close if it gets too close to a bright light source (including the Sun).

The military has been reading license plates from space for 20 years.

There was already a “Hubble” built by the military, facing towards earth. Before the famous Hubble telescope was ever built

Imagine we are still seeing the space blurred now ...

Maybe this is a stupid question but how does Google Earth get such clear picture?
