White supremacists have been joining the republican party since before the 1970s. I saw a documentary in the late 1970's, it was an old video at the time. Conservative was a term used, I was Republican and didn't connect the dots until I was 44 years old. I dropped out!

I’m a middle-aged white dude who considered himself a principled conservative who deeply cared about poverty, war, and racism. I spent enough time in the GOP to understand how shallow is their rhetoric of liberty and equality and how deeply-held is their commitment to maintaining their privilege at the expense of their fellow citizens. My older brother used to be a conservative back in the 90s, he listened to Rush Limbaugh alot especially during the Rodney King incident. But he turned around in the late 90s after listening to more intelligent people.
