So timely. I used to really tap into my inner child and after some adult traumas that further wounded my inner child, I tucked her far into the recesses of self because I didn’t want any more pain. I’m becoming painfully aware how dull life has become without her and am struggling to reconnect.

I started Inner Child therapy and I started reconnecting with a hobby I have thrown away "to grow up": CREATIVE WRITING! However, holy crap it's so hard to remember good things from my childhood. Inner Child therapy can be draining, but I'm happy slowly uncovering things, like how in grade school I actually had good teachers who advocated for me in a time discrimination against gay people was normalized

I watched this in tears. I have very few memories of childhood and those I have are not happy ones. I was rarely allowed to do anything I wanted. I have been sick and housebound for years and am not able to do many things I might want to do now. I never really had friends, I now know - at age 78 - that I am neurodivergent which probably explains a lot. My inner child is lonely, damaged, and struggling every day. With my health issues just getting through each day is as much as I can manage. I do try to make the most of my life, what's left of it, creating is very important to me. I've done some artwork recently which surprised me. Writing poetry also helps. But I still have so much grief to deal with.

At 59 years old, my inner child is going to play every single day if I want to, my new saying is I'm getting younger every day

I found your split screen format extremely effective. Is most effective in getting your message across.. most of the others in this field have missed this... Well done... you have hooked me to watch more of your work..

I tucked away my inner child and it is very painful and lots of anxiety to rescue her from being far, far away. But I have help with Dr. Snipes and it gives me the awareness to begin to set aside the trauma response to live back in my own self again. I guess we can all recover our inner child, but only with help from good MOTHER and FATHER type figures!

Hi Dr. Dawn, 6 months ago I went through an abrupt end of engagement/relationship. The past 6 months has been focused on healing, and I'm now in the stage where I am exploring wounds in my childhood. I have played this video over 10x in addition to my journaling. This has been so helpful in my journey. Thank you so much for what you do for us. God bless you

Thank you. I know I need to reach out to my inner child. There is a lot of pain there. These methods are perfect.

Therapy, CODA and meds have helped me improve my situation and quality of life.

simply acknowledging my inner child healed me from later traumas because most of my childhood was good, emotionally, because I was a nonconformist and learned not to be dependent on the attention of others, and not to be effected by their generational trauma acting out, and learned to love intentionally like I did before I was aware of the fairness around me. I keep pictures of myself as a smiling child in view at all times. I cherish my stuffed toys and I am playful. I am enjoying awareness of my inner child now

Thank you Dr. Snipes. This video is so perfect for me. A couple of positive events that I remember are going fishing with my uncle and going to ball games with a different uncle. At this time in my life, I am trying to rewrite the inner dialogue that makes me feel worthless.

I'm going trough a tough time right now... I've made so much of progress on my road for a better state in my mental health. It did work but sometimes, life happens and I did feel insecure and anxious. Today, because of that lovely video, I'm going to give my ic a fun day. I'm going to buy Christmas sheets for the bed, 2 very pretty child's book, a painting with number... And I will probably make spaghetti with meat balls. This video is helping me just by thinking of that plan for today.

Thank you a lot for all your work 🙏

I am going through this same inner child wounds and no matter how much I tried there's always left something to heal. This was so helpful ❤ I bought “coloring for inner child healing” by Caldwell Ramsey and it’s been wonderful to color and connect with my inner child as I relieve stress 🌈
