Hi Cruelsister1,    I have to say something in the defense of Avast, and that is that you may have to go through their settings thoroughly in order to optimize their product like for instance suggesting checking all for packers. Also I like to point out that Avast has a sandbox but not as interactive as Comodos sandbox, also Avast has a HIPS feature that can be adjusted as well some of their other features. Thanks for the review.

I use Comodo Cloud AV.
The default deny I think works the same as CIS.
I used Avast about the time they first came out, but it wasn't very good then.

Was that last file a .exe or something else?...If it was .exe I guess the mystery of how Hardened mode works continues.

avast by no means is a traditional AV....heck traditional av's don't exist in today's date
