Back when I was living in Australia, I had a tick, living in my Afro for a whole week, sucking the blood from the back of my head.
I kept having sudden temperature drops, dizziness, fever and shit. Them small animals are HECTIC AF.

my mother used to tell me a story of a neighbor they had when she was a little girl, this was 1960's Phils ... the girl's stomach distended and they thought she was pregs, but she got thinner and sickly... after 10 mos, she had not given birth, a local albularyo told the parents to sacrifice a cow and collect the blood in a tub & make her sit in it... leeches came wriggling out ... don't know if it was true, but it fascinated me ...

Omg I live in Vietnam but rarely/never go to the countryside AND drink water from natural sources, that's insane. Always boil your water guys.
When going anywhere, stick to cities and major tourist attractions, they have safe water.

My friend got a leach on her eyeball in a mud fight once, pouring salt on her eyeball wasn’t pleasant but at least we got it off, she avoided mud fights after that
