Thank you for your video tutorial! I was interested in one moment at 00:55, when you highlighted the video on track 2 on the timeline, the position, size and rotation control automatically turned on on the program monitor. Moreover, you have titles above this video on top of the next track, if I double-click on the control in the software monitor, then the activation of motion control occurs exactly on the title, and not on the tracks below. How to achieve automatic activation of the selected clip? Thank you in advance

This dynamic link workflow which you mentioned can create a lot of mess and storage problem for people who need to go back and forth with the edits, adding new graphics and clips or for instance increase the duration within the project with all the sfx and music and VO. I would say this works for small projects where there aren't a lot of things happening in after effects

At 8:13 you can just use the shortcut cmd+option+v to paste the clip where the playhead is in after effects.

To paste the clip at the desired point you can use CTRL ALT V to paste so that it will paste where ever your indicator is in the ae so that you don't have to copy and paste it in the beginning then cut it.

Hi, thanks for your great videos !

I've got an issue I hope anyone will help to solve it, since it drives me crazy...

When I do the "convert to an after effects composition" in premiere pro, after effects uses the entire clip and not the premiere pro trimmed (and edited) one. So instead of be abbled to use rotobrush on a 10 sec clip for exemple, I now have to figure wehere is the good part inside the OG footage... Idk why it acts like that.

So, does anyone know how to solve it ?

Cheers !

This is what's keeping me from switching to DaVinci Resolve, After Effects is still king for many motion graphics stuff that I simply just wanted imported into Premiere Pro without having to export stuff and re-export if I decide to edit it later.

Good stuff. My laptop can not handle both apps open at the same time. I have two 4 terabyte hard drives plugged in to allocate space properly, but the ram kills me. I usually just edit the time line on premiere pro first, save and then open up after effects and mess around with the saved video.

Or I’ll edit all the videos first, save them and then open up premiere pro and lay out the time line.

It’s not easy but it’s honest work. I need an M1 or M2 Mac book 🥲

What would be the right settings for RAM allocation for Premiere Pro and After Effects when you have both programs open? If I open PP first with high RAM allocation for it does this mean that AE will only have a small amount of RAM to work with?

My issue is once I finish editing a project in Premiere, I ‘replace with AE comp’ do my work needed on AE then come back to premiere, but I can’t change what I’ve done? The AE timeline is set and locked on premiere pro and I can’t change any additional bits if a client asked me to?

Wonder if you can help

Thanks!

Since last year, I have been facing a problem. When I transfer some of my footage from Premiere Pro to After Effects and do some motion graphics work in After Effects, and then save the project in After Effects and come back to Premiere Pro, it shows that the left part is being cut and blurred a little bit. Can you please tell me how I can fix this problem? The Premiere Pro and After Effects composition settings were both set to 1920 x 1080.

My only question is, what happens to the link if one or both of the programs close? I used the replace with After Effects link in Premiere, and my power blinked out. When I reopened Premiere and After Effects, the clip was red in Premiere, and the error text was on the screen.

so what if you try to render in premiere an after effects comp and it says error compiling movie? and you cant even render the rest of the normal footage in the premiere sequence? do i still rather do the rendering / exporting the comp from ae?

When I'm using the dynamic link for a particular clip from a long video so when the AE open ups the clip get's precomp and even if I want to roto the particular clip then the full long video is coming on my timeline inside the precomp but when I was in 2021 version for both PR and AE then it only add the particular clip on the timeline of AE without precomp so I need help
