I adopted my cat from a shelter when she was 8. She had been there for months and I couldn’t understand why no one had wanted her. She was the most beautiful animal I had ever seen with taupe and midnight brown stripes on her back, a beige belly with sharply contrasted dark spots and piercing green eyes. I held her once and I knew we had a special bond, despite never having been a cat person per se (I didn’t think cats liked me). She was scared and underweight when I brought her home. I didn’t force affection or even attention from her. I just spoke to her softly, fed her consistently at the same times everyday, and waited patiently with no expectations. She gradually started approaching me and when my husband was in the room (or anyone else), she would nuzzle herself under my arm and peek out. I was her safe space and that was just fine with me. As weeks went by, she would spend less and less time under the bed. She began nuzzling her head on my face, “talking” to me (her meow legit sounds like “hello” ☺️), running to greet me at the back door when I would get home, and sleeping in her safe space under my arm at night. She is now 13 and my family calls her my shadow because she is always by my side. Luna is healthy, happy, and sleeps on my pillow with her face touching mine every night. She hasn’t needed to hide under my arm for a long time but she knows I will always be her safe place. It’s truly a love like no other and I hope everyone gets to be a cats “person” at least once in their lives. ❤

I talk to my cats like humans and they understand me, they also know when they shouldn't be doing something. Cat's are very smart and they show us.

Lost my cat in February. She was the best companion and her snuggles got me through the loss of my husband. She was almost 19 and even though my asthma was made worse by her, with medications I was able to do okay and care for her with love. Some people don't believe an animal can go to heaven but when my time comes, I know that she'll be there as my reward and we will be reunited again. Right now she and my husband are waiting together for me. I'm in no hurry to join them but one

My cats have varied personalities.
One always grooms me, and kisses me on the nose.
Another rolls over regularly for a "tummy tickle".
Another constantly follows me round the house, always puring.
Another meows toward me, and we have a cat chat.
They all greet me with their tails straight, and what I call a "kiss curl" at the top of their tail.
Cats are just so unique and gorgeous.

I'm definitely my cat's favorite pet.

My former neighbor's Russian Blue chose me in most of this. He was my first and only non human best friend. His name was Ippy. Havent seen him in almost 10 years... I miss that little cat.... I've never bonded with any animal let alone a cat like that before in my life. He even sat on my shoulder like a pikachu. It was such a special bond...

I was telling my friend that I think my kitten imprinted on me, (and vice versa). He does all of these things, and jumps on me with kiss attacks when I come home from work. We're good buddies for life.

Cats see us as their faithful servants. They pay with love and trust. Fine by me.

Finally a video that combines cuteness with actual, scientifically-proven facts.
So many other channels insist that your cat thinks you are a huge, weird-looking cat, or that they see themselves as tiny humans ... as if they were blind and stupid.
They know very well we are vastly different ... and that we are incredibly-skilled hunters who always manage to obtain huge amounts of food, despite being slow, clumsy, and clawless 😄

Whenever I lay on the sofa to take a snooze, all 3 climb on top of me. One on my chest, one under my arm and another on my legs. Keep me toasty in the winter time....lol

Edgar decided to be my cat. Like, from first meeting. When he was a kitten, he would wake me up in the middle of the night, nursing on my earlobe. Which is a terrible way to wake up, believe it. I get all the affection. He screams at me if he doesnt get his morning squish soon enough. I learned that he considered petting to be a two way street. He doesnt bite if I let him lick my thumb every so often.
Edgar's favourite thing in the world is when I lean my chair back and put my feet up so he can lay right beside my head and nap.

One of my ex girlfriend's cats would sit on my lunch cooler every morning before I went to work, and he'd let me pick him up like a baby, on his back. If she tried that, he would flip out. I miss that cat. Don't miss my ex at all, but I miss that cat.

My son and I have a very strange relationship. He stares me in the eye but does not and will not slow blink at me. He simply stairs as though he says..."I know you love me, I Do love you but I am not affectionate".

I have 2 cats. One, "Possum" is a 14 year old calico. She is always purring. She will purr for anyone. She's not a fussy eater. She has this attitude of "Love me, I'm beautiful". My other cat is a Grey tabby. She will purr for me only when she is on the bed with me. Anyone else, growl & hiss. She is a very fussy eater, she will turn her nose up a can of Tuna.

Talking was definitely the ice breaker with my Shina. I always encouraged her by responding to her meows and now we understand each other completly without needing to speak the same language!

We have 10 indoor/outdoor cats. They’re pretty free on our 500 acre ranch. Yet they come in every day and touch base with me. Of course they know who touches them. I know who comes up to me just by the sound of their purr, voice, tip tap, movements too. I talk to every cat and I always make sure to acknowledge everybody in the room when I enter and when I leave. I touch heads, I pet butts, I boop noses if I know I can… we are all friends with lots of respect for each other and our spaces. We always say hello and bye bye. My cats are happy and fulfilled.
