It's weird how criminals have the most rights, and have the justice system on their side. If a homeowner can't pay the bank he'll find his stuff on the streets. This is ridiculous.

There’s a way around to make them leave legally. Someone else other than the homeowner (close friend, family member) can break in and squat in the house at the same time as the other squatter. All they need is a legal paper from the homeowner that they are new renters. Some homeowner did this and it worked. Squatters ran out because the “new squatter/renter” started doing a disturbance in the house and making life miserable for the original squatter. Renters/squatters have more rights than owner. Fight squatter with squatter.

The fact you can’t just walk into your property and throw someone out is wild to me.

This is not an AirBnB nightmare. This is a careless unofficial lease agreement nightmare made beyond the scope of an AirBnB rental.

Why people keep letting strangers on their property for a few bucks is beyond me. You never truly know what kind of person they are until something happens.

She said she wanted $100, 000 to leave. Arrest her for blackmail.

It's been a rough year with losses from failed banks and government, real estate crashes, a struggling economy, and downturns in stocks and dividends. It feels like everything has been going wrong.
What a terrible year it is…

She just wants money. She is a squatter and is not a tenant. She is crazy and greedy.

I am an Airbnb host. He built the guest house without the proper permits. He rented the guest house without the proper Certificate of Occupancy. He made a side deal with her after the Airbnb stay officially ended. She took advantage of his mistakes.

Had a rental in CA in a rural area. Rented to two young people who turned out to be swindlers. They stopped paying so we started the month's long process to evict. Court date came and they told the judge WE turned off the water. It was on a well with a switch for the pump located in the house. All they did was turn off the switch (we don't even know if the water was actually ever turned off) We told the judge this but the judge just held his hand up and said we were harassing the tenants. Judge made us pay them. NEVER be a landlord in CA. The state always sides with the squatter.

My friend also has had a nightmare with a renter turned squatter. It's cost him over $20, 000 in legal fees and all the lost rent money. Staying in someone's property when they've asked you to leave is no different than theft.

Looked her up, apparently she's a Harvard graduate. And she's done this before, literally got kicked out 2 months prior for squatting. Appearances aren't everything people, get background checks before letting people stay in your home.

If I'm the judge i would always side with the homeowner. If your name is not on the deed and the owner wants you out, I'll order an eviction, no appeals.

HE CAN MOVE INTO HER SPACE "WITH HER" AND SHE CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO... TURN THE TALES ON HER

Why doesn’t he just use the balcony window to evict her?
