Training is such a fundamental part of dog ownership. Dogs can learn so much with the proper guidance. We started training Emma as soon as we got her, and she was able to pick up commands very quickly :) We used every single opportunity in our day-to-day as a training session to provide structure and boundaries, so that she can be herself while ensuring her safety. And not only that, I’ve learned so much about training methods (and certainly notice all the mistakes I’m making here) and have been able to improve the way that I train 😊

If you try saying it once, if she doesn't respond, help her into position and reward with yes and a treat. Repeating a command over and over just learns over time that she doesn't need to respond first time.

Give her a treat after every single time she successfully follows your command. She'll learn a lot faster. ✌🏼 Great breed.

Little tip for training! Instead of saying “down” or “sit” over and over, say it once to get their attention and say it once more to command them, then wait for their reaction. After 30 seconds they should be sitting or laying down if you stay still and let them figure it out. Good job training her at this age! You’re doing amazing.

Just like with children, it’s so hard to correct them when they are being disobedient but sooo cute, but the hard work pays off in the long run!

You’re both doing great! Her playful outburst during training is totally acceptable for her age, well done.

Also good you’re teaching “down” from neutral and not from “sit” which is a common teaching roadblock because it adds a prerequisite command to “down.”

The first time my Boxer learned to speak on command he would first just Snort, I would then Bark at him and he barked back.

Best 11 years. A Dogs potential is always more than expected.

At such A young age look how intelligent this dog is already. If she keeps working with him he’s going to be a pleasant part of the family and a great protector. And I know this because I’m owned three of them in my lifetime they’re fantastic dogs.
