(maybe) Boost your TF2 Framerate by (up to) 30% with one command !

bindtoggle p " cl_hud_playerclass_use_playermodel" (set to 0 to just disable it)
We tested with chat; something like 75% them got a big FPS boost from disabling the 3D viewmodel. Didn't seem to matter if TF2 is on an SSD vs HDD / AMD vs Intel, so really no idea what triggers it.

I think it's just because the game has to load the player's model but does not have any optimizations for it. For me, I only enable it on Spy, since if you are disguised the model can show how you look to others and what cosmetics the person has

for spy i like to have it enabled so i can see recognise the person i'm disguised as's cosmetics, then disable it in every other config

Some HUDs like BudHUD let you turn it off completely
