Protest outside Parliament demands Keir Starmer reverse winter fuel cut

A protest was held outside Parliament to highlight opposition to the Government’s controversial decision to scrap the winter fuel allowance for pensioners.

The Unite union joined forces with the National Pensioners Convention and Scottish Pensioners Forum for what they describe as a mass lobby. John McDonnell talked to the gathered protesters against his own party.

State pensioners who've been stripped of their £300 Winter Fuel Payment this winter, just as energy bills soar by another 10 percent, are desperately seeking ways to pinch pennies in the frosty months ahead.

Cost to Labour for keeping winter payment —£1.2 billion. Cost to Labour if every pensioner that can get pension credit receives it — £2 billion.
Every pensioner who should get pension credit, should go to Citizen Advice to get help filling in the application form, or ask a member of their family. Hit Labour where it hurts.
Still no evidence of that £22 billion black hole supposedly left by the Tories. Labour caused a £9 billion black hole by caving in to Union pay demands.
