I'm all for cutting reliance on fossil fuels, we get absolutely screwed every time there's a war in an oil producing country or whenever OPEC just decides to cut production to force up prices. I'm also all for reducing pollution in cities, as someone who lives in a rural area, I appreciate how disgusting the air is every time I have to go to a city. However, what just stop oil are demanding is just unachievable in the timescale they expect it to happen. We currently have no viable alternatives for many oil uses and a lot of the alternatives we do have would require an unsustainable amount of crop growth in order to produce those replacements.
We need a commitment to more nuclear and tidal power. Tidal is the most relliable source of energy in the world, unless the moon disappears, it's always there no matter what the weather
