While I am not the biggest Minecraft fan of all time, I can say this song is beautiful. It may be short, but it packs some emotion of sadness and nostalgia with it. Great song.

The tremolo on this piano’s chord progression is amazing. It’s like that trembling, shuddering feel you get when you’re about to cry. Whether it’s out of sadness or happiness, you know that feeling when you’re about to just spring a leak.

It was the first hour of January 1st, 2014, and I stood on the porch of my house. I was listening to this song while the Christmas lights flickered and flakes fell to the hushed snow below. The world seemed as if it was dancing to the gentle piano, or maybe at least I had imagined it to be. All the while, when the lights dimmed, and the song was on its final measure, I could faintly see the moon and all its beauty watch me staring from the clouds above.
It was one of the most amazing memories I have had, and I hope I never forget it.

Listening to this ost again, I actually cried. Back in 2012, when I first got into this game, I was 13. My life was so much easier and carefree than it is now. Now my life is incredibly stressful with school, and home isn't always better as i'm often too busy to enjoy myself. I'm worried that at 17, I may have already passed the peak of my life. Is it all downhill from here? I hope not. I think i'm going to start playing this game again. Not the new game, the old one that was still good. I'll cherish this last bit of free time that I still have. I don't know if anyone else is going to read this comment, but if you do... life is shit, but only sometimes. You just have to push on and hope maybe you can achieve your dreams and make a new peak, and find good times.

Edit: I found the good times. It took years and might for you too but trust me that the uphill battle is worth it. Don’t let depression or drug addiction ruin your potential like I almost did for myself. I appreciate everyone who has been checking in, y’all got good hearts.

0:18 and 0:55 are so depressing.

They are basically the motifs of the song, motif meaning a portion of a song or certain chords that gets repeated. Listen to both the time-stamps, they are essentially the same chords. While 0:18 flows into the next portion of the song beautifully, maintains the pace, 0:55 does not.

0:55 simply ends, and it’s honestly heartbreaking. This song, for most of us, is considered beautifully somber and extremely nostalgic. I get so sad because I want to go back to that known motif. I want to experience more of that known sound (metaphor for minecraft) but I can’t the way I used to. Minecraft is an incredible game, but one that can only truly be played stress free.

0:55 is possibly one of my favorite moments in music because of the way it ends the song so well while also serving as a bit of a metaphor. An emotional song getting more emotional makes for a very emotional song. But an emotional song that simply ends… that’s different. I can’t find the words, but it’s different.

It was the ending days of 2013, It was one of the first days my parents got along after our house burned down. I was laying on my rental house bed. I found this game called Minecraft. I watched my first ever Stampy video, he was dong a tour of a persons star wars ship. I heard this song playing in the background of his tour. That was the first day I ever felt happy after the house fire. Even though minecraft might be weird today, never forget those golden times you had, many years ago with minecraft.
