So another monopoly will buy an existing monoploised product.
Just one question- how will it help in anyway the normal USER or small COMPETITOR against chrome and more importantly is this going to be beneficial to ANYONE except the lawyers involved??

1. search is going to done via questioning an AI, 2. we don't need shty browsers, like Bing, we only need one browser w/ reliable results, 3. taking Chrome from Google is like taking Mac from Apple; that's brand destruction!

It's not the browser that's monopolistic - it's the online advertising business.
We have choice among browsers, we don't have a choice in search, advertising, YT etc. etc.

wont happen... Its already open source
They should break the agreement with Apple to be default search... also with Meta where they share data...

As an SEO, i can say that this is not fair or realistic. Google Chrome is intertwined with Google search engine and will nose dive in search quality

How would that even work, it is an open source project. Even Google itself doesn't hold the rights to it. They only own the Chrome brand, not the Chromium engine. No one can buy it, all they would get is the name and logo.
