The driver definitely hit the brakes which is the worst thing you can do on ice could have eased off the throttle until traction came back in but by braking when the tractor slipped made the tractor slow when it regained traction but the trailer was still crossing the ice and going faster than the tractor at that point which caused the jack knife

Dumb. Not black ice. You can see the compacted ice in the tire ruts. Speed was a huge factor.

Another question I have is why not travel in the left lane which is better than right lane

If you don’t slow down, you may have to waste a week or two. Slowing down is actually quicker in this case. 😂😂
