These are some of the toughest dudes i've ever met.
They fight with concussions and broken bones and they PAY to do it because they absolutely love it.
I grew up & also worked with some dudes who did SCA & went to Pennsic Wars annually.
They used to play a game where 2 men would drink, then each hold 1 end of a pole & take turns hitting each other in the head with swords until one gave up or got knocked out...and they never gave up.
They no longer allow this game due to too many head injuries despite the helmets 😂😂😂
