My husband got into the trade when he was 30. He just turned 59 and can retire at age 62. It has been a great career for him and our family.

Im 29 now. I was 24 in my old job with a crew of 5 under me and they were all over 35 years of age. You can respect your elders while leading them at the same time. Even if someone older than you doesn’t like it, there’s always a way to win their respect as a leader.

There were so many applicants that applied for the Lineman program and I was one of the few who got selected for an interview for the program. And it went well today. They only take 12 students a year for it. The kids that walked out when I was waiting to be interviewed looked like babies man. I was like wth.. lol I’ve been in the marines and was a machine operator and trained kids for 7 years. I’m 31 yrs old, strong as an ox and weigh 140 lbs and in super good shape. I love outdoors and working in shttie conditions. My instructor asked me today do you think you are the oldest guy who came into this program? I said no. He said I had a 39 year old come in today. And I’m like im different dude lol 31 years old is perfect.. not old not too young.

I'm 36, just got accepted to 1393 albat. I have topped out for union pacific, tree side and worked as a JW. I'm taking a pay cut as a step 1 apprentice. 6 hours away for me to

I went to lineman school at 29 after being a mechanic and dabbling in electrical for 10 years. Ended up up graduating with the highest test scores in the school. I also took the JATC and scored a 6. I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life and have no longer have any desire to go out and party or make poor decisions like the younger guys do. I attribute all that to my life experiences. Most of all I know I'm still nothing compared to the guys that have been in the trade. I just want to keep my eyes and ears open and grind. I'll dig a hole run a hand line and run around while eating my lunch standing up all with a smile on my face. 😂

I’ve been working manufacturing for years now. Currently 26 about to turn 27. I’m starting to apply to trade apprenticeships because I don’t feel satisfied working manufacturing for the rest of my life. Even if I take a few dollars pay cut to start off.

If you think electrical and HVAC are not physically demanding, you are way wrong. Try doing residential HVAC for 5 years or pulling wire 500 or 600 kcmil wire every day. Elitist

I'm putting all of my effort to get into the apprenticeship at 25. I'm trying to get into IBEW as a wireman. It's so hard to get any info from anybody so I can plan better.

Do a episode for operators in the field there is only one apprenticeship in the union for operators and it’s also grueling and lots to learn

32. Years old. I am a HVAC tech who went to business school when I was younger. Did the whole corporate thing. Want a CHANGE and a CHANCE. I’m looking into IBEW 42 but am willing to move anywhere. Starting CDL school in a few months. Is there an aptitude test for the NEAT 1969 program. What should I into for my next steps?

Great videos. Very informative.
