In this video I will show you what challenges I faced while assembling a diy delta 3d printer kit. I will talk about the basic function principle, how it compares to an ordinary XYZ 3d printer and the most important things you should look out if you want to own such a delta printer as well.

This kit seems really tempting. Very cool video Scott!

I ordered a delta printer from ali but without a heated bed so the prints come off very easy.
I will be taking a look at a heated bed.

Thanks for making these kinds of videos, I love watching them :)

Could you make a follow up video about the printer???

I didn't see the heated bed thing anywhere. That little snippet with changing the heated bed pin and motherboard type in pins just saved me from pulling my lust clump of hair out.
Other than that, this printer is the best 3d printer I have used after tinkering.

Thank you for making this video

Awesome video!
I have my own prusa i3 (but the steel and aluminium extrusion model) and it works fantastically.
The delta printers look so cool though I think I'm going to get one!
thanks

I saw some of those in the last Paris' maker faire, I know a french brand makes similar ones (if not this one)
It's very nice to see them work, and they are compact as well

One tip for the belts staying taught is using the spring from a clothes pin. You take the spring part and touch it to the belt with the arms facing out and the pull the belt inside the arms so that the arms are kind of pulling the belt towards the center.

Idk if that is understandable, I can explain further if needed. Anyways it helps keep my belts more taught

A great video, Scott! Are you still working on this Delta 3D Printer? It should be nice if you can consider to make a following up video on this machine's performance and your new experience on 3D printing.

Make sure that you are "smooshing" the plastic on that first layer - on blue tape, it really ensures a ridicules level of adhesion. Over extruding on layer one by around 10-20% also helps.

I ordered this same printer from their Amazon store after having trouble ordering it on AliExpress. It came with a 10 amp 12 volt power supply which is great. After I calibrated it with the m666 command it printed really good. But I had one issue, my fan was broken on arrival so I have to get a new one but other than that it's a great printer.

Great video and very interesting topic. Could you make another episode on 3D printing? What software, what to look for, which material to use, etc.

Wow, this is an awesome project! Unfortunately for me, it looks like the assembly process is beyond my technical ability. Maybe someday I can try this, but watching your channel helps me learn more in general.
